Anybody else shooting a Ross? I bought the cardiac 2 summers ago and love it. Kind of a bummer when they sold out.

Ross ran his own company into the ground, but they were at the ATA show - somebody bought them or is still offering them, I think maybe Bowtech

Don't quote me on this but I believe Quest Archery may have bought Ross...the only reason I say this is because a buddy of mine broke a limb on his Cardiac. The new limbs say Quest Archery on them. I believe it is G5 who is the parent company of Quest. They are selling the rest of the Ross stock under the Quest Label.

G5 was making parts for Ross. Part of the contract was that if Ross didn't pay their bills they were to get inventory back and could put out their own bow. Don't quote me either, but I am quite sure G5 didn't buy Ross...

Go to Bowtech Archery WEB sight and you'll see they now are the parent company for Ross just as they are for Diamond.

Yes sir. I just got my 09 Cardiac 31 last week and boy she is a shooter. And also Bowtech did pick up Ross and the 09 line-up is under the name Ross by Bowtech, just like Diamond is.

You can get a new in box non-Bowtech Ross Cardiac and some CR models for about 300 bucks right now. These bows were more than double that cost last year.

No warranty would be an issue for some but who cares for that price. I haven't had any problems with my CR 337 in the three years and many shots I have put through it.

Bowtech is now building ross bows. They do not own ross nor did they purchase any of ross's liabilities or previous patents. They have no obligation to honor the old ross warranties but they purchased back some old bows from dealers in exchange for the new ross models to stockpile parts to honor warranties the best they can. They will also work with the customer to get them into a new bow for a CHEAP price should a customer have issues with the old model ross bows. Andy ross is still a part of ross bows. he now works for bowtech and helps with the promotion of the new ross line. Also he did not run the company into the ground as some people think. there was a misunderstanding of a tax law that once he paid the bill for it he fell behind in his payments a small amount and G5 used the parts they made with his patents to launch their own bow line. im not blaming either company of any wrongdoing. if anyone else has any questions i'd be happy to fill you in on all the details.

Blake

P.S. yes I do shoot a Ross among several others. My CR334 has been my go to hunting bow for the past 4 seasons though. Smooth and quiet!

7-10 days the lake will be ice free. Which will be almost right on average ice out (April 30). Pike bay is open up to Duffy island working up the bay. Paddled from the Pike river up the bay to the ice line tonight.

Fake chirp as marketing gimmick.    They need something to convince folks to buy their unit and dump their unit from two years ago.    I am reserving judgement on the new higher frequency units.  "mega" and equiv.   Side scan actually seems like it could be useful.  Lots of stuff is changing these days in electronics.       I think what would be cool is an underwater drone with several transducers that communicates back to the boat wirelessly with sonar and video.....    Fresh water doesn't block radio waves too much so probably could use radio communication at least for a limited distance.       Some sort of modulated acoustic waves would work too.       Can't you just see, sitting in the boat, driving the mini-sub around looking  for fish, with sonar to help?   I bet the open water musky guys would pay big bucks for one....😂

Sure wish we would get a strong enough east wind to pile the ice on shore. Lot of ice out there and it will take a long time if it has to all melt.

Friends and family would worry about me if I was too afraid of getting a little wet to go fishing. Every time each one of us drives to the lake or on a lake, we are in danger of a teen girl or drunk killing us. Or a brake failure or shift and throttle or steering cable causing our rig to lose control. I bust through each spring coming off the ice. Which is why I know that it's not fatal. In Nov. I ask the bait shop owner if anybody has been out, if he says "No, its not safe" I smile and buy bait. I've been fishing when waves were crashing onto the ice MANY times. When the 1.25" ice cracks between my feet from a cough... I just DONT cough! If I have my choice I'm going to die while fishing!! That's why I fish more than I sleep or work in a year. You 'safe' people are going to die, maybe in a accident maybe from cancer, 'safe' doesn't matter!! This is who I am!! I spend more money and more time fishing than ANYTHING else!! Don't worry about me, folks!! I have survived tons of close calls.... The time we were on superior ice fishing 6 miles from shore... After dark and nearly got hit by the 1001' American Spirit ship comes to mind. We abandoned most of our gear to run once we realized what was happening. One last time... I WANT TO DIE FISHING!!  Hope that helps you guys understand. Good luck living forever.
