What's working on trout

Has anyone been flyfishing for trout yet? Care to share what patterns are working? Thanks. smile

Hi Paul. I've been out a couple of times and caught a some fish. I'd suggest an orange or amber scud trailed by a small black midge. Use plenty of weight and a long tippet and fish deep. A simple midge like the zebra midge should do the trick. You could also try a Pink Squirrel in place of the scud.

Zebra midge and midge dries in 22s. No need to drudge the bottoms with lead. I have been fishing in the foam lines. Long leaders are not necessary either. Small tippets are more important. This all depends on how well you cast and where you are fishing.

Have also been getting fish on #4-8 mini leech patterns.
