whent out to my gps waypoint i have used for the last 4 years outside of shanty town today. used to get 3-10 crappies 10-14 inchers. shanty town has grown as it is now encroaching on my spot outside of shanty town. i am now in shanty town. fished it anyway and same as always when the sun hit the tree tops the vexy lit up. this time 4 crappies 5-7 inchers. i need to find a new spot further away. Good luck to all.

Loon18......Soon shanty town will be shanty city and strech the width of the Croix the way its going. There are still alot of areas that are untapped out there though.2 of my spots that Ive had to myself for 7 or 8 years have folks on them now.I just find new grounds though.Just gotta stay one step ahead of the crowds,if you can.

Tried a few new spots yesterday, not a bite. Went to a spot that always produces away from the crowd and managed 2 keeper craps and a 5-inch sauger. All the action took place around sunset. Fishing out there is tough right now, in my opinion.

I was out there sunday, never been one to go by the towns, but was VERY tough to even get a bite. Me and the wife were basicly all by ourselves but within 15 minutes we had a few guys around us which I have no problem with. Saw A LOT of guys moving there permi shacks up north which was a shocker to me. Its SO busy up there I dont think you can even move.

Quick question, is the guy with the plywood shack and tree a member? Hes been out there [PoorWordUsage] neer every day!

Sunrise and sunset have always been the best times on the croix for me. And the bite seems real quick.

Yeah, a lot of people are starting to venture north. There are a few spots up by the high lines that you can get into still. All I have caught up there though this year were a bunch of small crappies. Nothing worth keeping.
