Rice

Didnt seem to be any slush issues the other day. I had around 15". LOTS of people driving and full houses being dragged out by full sized trucks. I still drove my wheeler. For me it's just cheap insurance leaving my truck on shore.

It is a bumpy ride though. somewhat plowed, lots of hard packed snow, which makes it real bumpy. also saw a few cars out (dont know how many scraped the underside though)

I'm looking at heading out to Rice tomorrow but have never fished it before. Are there any known springs or dangerous spots I might want to steer clear of?

Thank you Hard617. I have been fishing mostly up north and it's pretty much a mess on the those lakes. Even tough for a snowmobile to get around. Sounds like lakes in this area are a little better than up north.

There was an open spot in the middle of the main bay when the rest of the lake had around 5 1/2. When I was out there last, I saw trucks driving very near that spot. almost looked to be a road going past it, but this was from the sw access near the river that the road had come from. I dont think you have too much to worry about now, especially if they are driving out from that area. the river is probably your most dangerous spot. For what it's worth, I always come in from the north. Good luck!

A few weeks ago there was water bubbling up on horeshoe. Made for a real mess. Doesnt seem to be any issues now, not on rice anyway. I'm sure most everywhere around here is good, just enough snow to make banking easy, and not too much to make a mess or travel too difficult.
