Hudson to Catfish Bar

I'm looking to branch out away from the crowds. Has anyone ever fished this stretch? I'd think with a 4-wheeler you could get around as long as you avoided the channel by the bridge and catfish narrows. (although I saw someone fishing today on the north end of catfish narrows) It appears you can get out at the Troy launch. Is the ice safe? Why don't more people fish this?

Thanks for the info.

I've Driven out from troy towards catfish before. I usually wait till the middle to end of january. I have a buddy drive the truck while i drill a hole every 50-75 yards the first time out. Just make sure you stop well short of the point though. I didn't have much luck though. A couple sturgeon and a sauger here and there. I would say your definitly safe with a wheeler!

The City of Troy beach is just north of the public boat launch. Those 'flats' or humps out from the YMCA camp beach (or is it Troy Beach?) are accessible. I've been out twice, once to the humps and once to the break just south of the interstate bridge. Didn't have any success both days.

The problem with the City of Troy launch is that you aren't supposed to drive a vehicle or ATV onto the ice through the public access. It is done, but it is against the posted rules... It wasn't plowed last time I checked either.

It was plowed yesterday, and it looks like a few snowmobiles have gone out from there. Where did you access the ice when you went out?

I'm surprised more don't fish this stretch. It's my favorite in the summer.

I launched north of the interstate bridge in Hudson. Was it plowed down to the ice? The launch parking area was plowed, just not the launch itself last time I checked.

no, the launch itself was not plowed, but there was very little snow on it. Did you go in from the boat launch just on the north side of the bridge? Would you have to pay to park there?

We fished Thursday - Saturday. Couldn’t get any marks to bite on the west end so started east. Caught lots of 9-15” eyes on the mud side of the transition. Mostly crawlers for us on Thurs-Fri but bite changed to minnows on Saturday. Our rainbows ran small but had a few big chubs mixed in. Big chubs we’re best. No eyes on small suckers.  A jig and sucker or crawler on 9-14’ rocks got smallies going in several places. Rocky points coming off islands also produced smallies with tubes, deep jerkbaits and ned rigs on east end. Also landed a 45” ski on a crawler harness.

Hello. The first step is to read reviews written by customers. This way, you can determine if a service delivers on time and does not charge hidden fees. The paperwriter reviews should also state whether or not the company guarantees original work. Some of the most reliable review platforms include Trustpilot and SiteJabber. I also don’t really believe that you can earn online casinos. There you can play, put bets, win and more often lose money. In the casino for Norway, the same rules apply as for the rest of the casino. If you are lucky, you will win. But to earn money, it is unlikely.
