Ice Fishing Derby on Lake Alexander

Recommended Posts

Saw a poster at the Lakeview Store on Lake Alexander (Cushing, MN) that there is an Ice Fishing Derby on Saturday, Jan 31st. 12pm-3pm, west end of the lake, $10 for a ticket, and prizes for the top 10 fish caught, plus MANY other raffle prizes. Tickets are available at almost every local business in the Lincoln Lakes area.

Sounds like fun... It would be nice to see a good turn out for this. I don't think they have done this Derby for a while.

I think it's been a few years. It used to rotate between Alex, Sham, and Fish Trap, but was held on Shaminau the past few times. The Lakeview Store kind of revived it again on Alex, and will be rotating it again between the 3 lakes going forward.

It would be great to see a nice turnout though. It's a little far out there, but for what it's worth, the weather forecast for that weekend is temps in the mid-20's, and that should feel tropical compared to this!
