May fishing opener questions

I know its a little early but does anyone know when walleye season closes and reopens? Another question I have is when pike fishing, I know you cant fish up the warroad river, but when does that take effect and when can you fish it for pike? Thanks all.<P><P>------------------<BR>

Walleyes close April 15 and open back up on what ever day the opener is in May. As far I know the northern season never closes at LOW it is a year round season on the lake. As far as the Warroad River I don't know.<P>------------------<BR>Grip it and Rip it<P>IFFWALLEYES

go to page 44 of 2003 regulations and you will find the answers to your questions. There are different limit numbers and size restrictions for Pike but you can still fish on the Warroad river year round.

The Warroad river is considered inland water and you CANNOT fish there till the opener {May 11}. There is a big rock on the shoreline next to the Lakeveiw restaraunt, I have been told by CO's that this is what they consider as the boundary between lake and river. Many folks get pinched on the Warroad river over this regulation each spring, don't be one of them!<P>Regards....Fisky
