Looking to spend a weekend on Prior, any tips?

Recommended Posts

I've never fished the lake and not even sure which part to go to? The smaller part? The larger part? I read something about sportsmans landing, where is that? I only see the public landing on the smaller part of the lake.

I'd like to put up a tip-up for some pike during the day. Then maybe fish for some crappies/eyes at night.

Basically, any tips would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance.

From my experience, I'd head the other way from St Boni and go to Waconia. The crowds on Prior are getting ridiculous, and the fishing is mediocre at best.

If you still want to go, Sportsmans access is off of Shady Beach trail just west of Bayview Cr, on a narrow lane with pine trees on the side. Go straight out and towards an island. On the close side of the island, find 22' as close to the island as you can get and look for crappies, sunnies, and the very, very ocassional walleye. On the far side of the island (watch out for the surface rocks out to the east!) there is a 35' deep hole, and do the same thing as before for slightly better luck for walleyes. There are a few other spots, and you will see the houses stretched out all over the place and try to get away from them if you can. Good Luck, and I hope you are able to snag a few keepers!

McGurk, thanks!

What about the public landing? Any good fishing down that way?

Or is it best to stay on the north, large, part of the lake?

Also, any tips on where to set up a few tip ups during the day to find northerns?

Thanks again.

Most of the traffic from the public landing is going out to their chosen spot, and there's not a lot to target closeby. I wish I had more for you, and that others would chime in here, too. I met you at a Portable get-together and remember you being very excited to get your then-new perm out on the ice with your kids.

For northerns, target the same area, but go shallower. I've tried other areas on the lake, but have only really had luck in 1 spot, and that spot gets pretty abused, too. There was an FM gettogether out there a couple of years ago, if you remember hearing about that spot.

McGurk is right about Prior. Head out of Sportmans and find some 20' deep water. You should get plent of action to keep your clan busy. I haven't had much luck around lunch time out there, I marked them but had a tough time getting em to bite. Late afternoon has been good to me all year. Some small ones to keep me busy and enough keepers to bring me back. Good luck!

Oh yeah, target panfish before 10AM and after 3PM as the midday bite is almost nonexistent.

Yes, you can make good money at the casino, but I think that this is unstable earnings, and situational, if you play every day, you can get into very large debts. I was advised this casino - https://onlinecasinospill.no/ , I tried and made no mistake in choosing, there is a huge bonus system, constant promotions for any holidays and a bunch of different slots that only improve the game, also the probability of winning is quite high, I was able to earn a small amount of money, I advise you to try

Филипп 9:29 In order to avoid unplanned expenses, you need to immediately discuss all the nuances with the contractor. In fact, there are many options. But it still seems to me that it can be done independently, even bulky things with several people can be loaded and moved on by themselves

I agree with you, but not completely, because you can win once and bet a little more, that is, set aside 80% of the total amount, and then play for the remaining 20%, I think this is a good option, and in any case, a person will win

As far as I know, there are several companies in Boston that are engaged in full professional relocation, it takes a little time, but they take enough money, I saw a couple of ads on the Internet about such work, you can also find performers of this order there

For a long time I wanted to turn to a good programmer so that he would collect applications for mining for me, but I could not find it and abandoned this business, now this thought is returning. I came up with such an application that no one has, but no one can assemble it, everyone refuses. I looked at the site that you advise, quickly read it, this company made a good impression on me, I will carefully read it in the evening, then I will contact them and if they agree with my idea, I will order.

The creek  bite has been nothing short of awesome as we come to the end of Sep.... Some days are definitely better than others, but even the slow days plenty of fish can be caught if you put in a little time and effort.   3 and 4 inch z-man plastics as well as grub style plastics have been getting the job done for me again this week.  Also been using some number 5 shad raps just to change things up a bit... 😁
