New Contract For T-Jack?

Recommended Posts

Sandmannd

I was reading the paper this morning and one of the writers said it's time to give him an extension. He is in year three of a four year deal and making almost $700k this year. This guy said they should resign him now and would probably be a $5 million bonus and 35 million dollar contract. Is this guy insane??!!!??? What the heck? They guy has played OK, that's it OK the last couple of weeks and that's it. Why would you commit to him now and sign up that kiknd of deal? Let him start and play next year and see if he can do a season. If he can't, cut your losses and get out. You sign him for money now you are stuck and I have a feeling T-Junk will raise his ugly head again next year.

I'd wait to see how he handles a blitzing team today.

He has looked better I'll admit.

It would help if McKinney could stop a D-End same for Cook.

We'll see, I really am pulling for the guy and would like to see the Jack and not the Junk but we'll see. I still say, no matter how he plays the rest of the year to see what he does next year. Why would you rush a contract with an unproven QB??

Well, his rookie contract is up at the end of this year so you either re-sign him or release him. I wouldn't think that the kind of money mentioned earlier here would be necessary to re-sign him. At the worst, he's still a pretty decent back-up which is very hard to find in this league as well. I would re-sign him and actively search for someone to either compete for the starting job or trade for someone in the league much like we did last year with Allen. Quarterbacks mature at different rates and if Jackson can start to get the mental game down he'll be an outstanding Q-back for a long time. He does have top end physical skills.

I also read that if Jackson doesn't do well today and the Vikes lose, the Vikes will be looking to NE to pick up Cassell.

His contract isn't up until the end of next season according to the article I read. He signed a four year up front.

Cassell is going to be NE's 2009 'chise. He'll get the franchise tag.

And that'll be worth about $14.8 million. Not a bad gig if you can get it.

My bad on Jackson's contract if he signed for 4 years. I thought all rookie contracts were for 3 years initially.

After today's game I'd give him a pack of soda crackers and show him the door.

They said on ESPN today ALL teams in the NFL get a $123 million dollar bump to their caps for next season. That's plenty enough to get a great QB in here.

If they give that clown a contract for big bucks, I'm done man. He needs to go.

$12.3 million? Can't be $123 million can it?

Isn't there 40 guys on a roster?? That is a little more than $3 mill a pop, totally feasible. Some guys won't see a $3 mill raise, but others will see more than that to make up the diference. Besides, what does the NFL care?? They don't pay it- the owners do.

That's a rediculous amount of money and if it's true then don't tell me you need $200 per ticket now. I would love to go to games but not gonna go when these greedy pigs don't even play hard for the money they make.

I am looking, maybe youre right- I am not sure. Each teams cap was only $109 million, so doubling it doesn't seem feasible. But it did go up $20 mill from the previus year, so I am not too sure.

I heard the same thing about the 123 million bump in the cap. Chris Mortensen was talking about it. Thats why the Pat's can afford to pay Cassell that much money to possibly be a back up.

You are correct, that wasn't how they said it on ESPN, that is why I was thrown off.

Toddrun, You are correct. It seems as if it’s still larvea down there in big bay. Have seen very few , if any mayflies in the air.

Nice fish Reid, We saw lots of clouds coming out of the mud also, but didn't know what was hatching.  Did see lots of dragonfly's, but not much for fishflies or mayflies in the air.  We didn't have any big fish luck for found keeper fish in the first rock edges around the mud. A guy in our resort claimed he caught a 32" Walleye, but we didn't see any pic's, so not verified, although had several witnesses that confirmed it.  Would have been nice to see it though.

Bass is my favorite fish to eat.    I always keep them.   If anyone told me not to I would tell them to go to [email protected]#$.    I always eat everything I catch. Catch and release is a choice not a law.   As long as people eat what they catch I have no problem with what ever they catch.   Those who waste fish I have a problem with or those who catch and release too much and end up killing fish I even have a bigger problem with.   Don

The OP specifically requested advice on how to best address what he personally considers an issue; respectfully. And yes, I do agree, and therefore respect his request enough to answer it; respectfully. I’ve personally dealt with the same conflict of interest in the past and feel that I understand the emotions on both sides enough to offer qualified advice that is more practical and useful than just saying mind your own darn business.

Hit BSL on Friday to tryand find those slabs again... They were right in the same area as the last time I was out, but could not get one to bite to save my life... They were taunting me jumping all around me... I got some walleyes, nothing over 14" though... The bugs were horrible on the north side, so bad they drove me to the south side haha.

If someone is legal keeping 15"+ bass, it's none of your business whether they keep 15"+ fish or not. Just walk away and leave it alone.  If you want to change the regulations, try doing it in the proper manner instead of a confrontation at the boat ramp.  I don't know how others would react, but if you approached me, it certainly wouldn't be positive experience.

so what do have against harpooners?????  the Indians did it before us????????????
    • Reid Saarela
28.5, but the fattest walleye we’ve seen. My dad and I both agreed it was a bigger fish than my 30 last summer. Wish we would have weighed it but I would rather have the fish swim off healthy!

I don't confront people on the water about what they do.  Expressing an opinion in general is fine.  Getting up in people's face is different, as I hope you agree.

That's awesome Don. Very creative and looks like fun.
