Coming up to Brainerd for the jaycees ice fishing contest

Was planing on coming up on the wednesday before the tourney and do some fishing around the area never ice fished around brainerd was hoping for some ideas on where to go and maybe what are some good lures to use thanks for a help.

What do you want to fish for? Do you like larger lakes like Gull or smaller lakes? Options are endless.

Like to fish whatever only my second year ice fishing might have the kids with not sure yet and either big or small lakes

Try North Long, 371 Bay. You should find some good action out there. Fish for panfish and set a few tip-ups for northerns. If all goes right, you should catch something. It is easy to get to (they have been driving since a couple days after Thanksgiving) and if you do a little bit of looking, you will find something bitting. Good luck!
