O.K. guys, what's the latest on the gull rock area? I've been watching this site, but there doesn't seem to be anybody talking about this area lately. Anybody been fishing here? We are staying at Arneson's this weekend and will be fishing the Southwest corner of Gull Rock. Any reports would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

We were out just north of Gull Rock for an hour so last Sat. Didn't catch any fish and didn't mark very many either. Fished 30' deep. Fellow in the house next to us sorted through a bunch of little ones to manage 4-5 keepers by noon.. We were moving around quite a bit to find a good bite, wasn't happening for us so we didn't spend too much time there.

Thanks for the response guys. We fish Gull Rock almost exclusively up there. We were there about 6 weeks ago and did pretty good. We caught a lot of little one's with three 18s, two 20s, and about twenty 14 to 16s, the 14 to 16s included a few sauger. We did have a nice fish fry that evening and had the pleasure of watching a couple swim away. I hope this weekend is similar. Outdoor, Hopefully I will meet up with you this weekend to have a beer, and swap stories.

Fished Gull Rock this weekend for a little while. The bite was pretty slow and only caught really little ones for the first hour or two. Moved out to the next group of houses on bablers road (16 mile???) and did much better. You could give gull rock a try but I would recommend somewhere else<p>[This message has been edited by sthwstfisherman (edited 03-20-2003).]

We will be fishing the South West corner of Gull Rock in a 8x8 blue portable with a red and black chevy. Also a 12 foot house on wheels with a silver chevy. Stop in and have a beer, maybe we can help one another get on some fish. If we are doing good, any one is welcome to fish with us. Good Luck everyone. Starting Friday Morning.

How did you do last weekend Walleye Wisher? I would have looked for you up there but we left Thursday before your last post. I Can't complain about the weather or the fishing it was a great weekend. We ended up with our limit of jumbo pech the largest measuring 13-inches. We struggled to find keeper walleyes and ended up with a few sauger and walleyes from 12-16 inches. The largest walleye in our group was 27-inches which was released. Followed by a 25 1/2-incher and a 22-incher. We also brought home 23-tulibee. It was a fun trip I look forward to next year.

Outdoor, We did ok for our group. We had 13 guys and ended up keeping about 80 fish. A lot of them, probably half, were perch. We did end up with 4 walleyes between 21 and 24 inches a few 18's and probably 20 other walleyes and sauger between 14 and 16 inches. As always this year, there was a lot of little one's. Probably the nicest weekend(two days in a row) I've had up there in 12 years. Always fun. Can't wait till next year.

Pop ups have increased for me for a while now.  Timed to cover my usual taps about the time I would tap.

So there is a boat on a friend's property, has been there for about 4 years, with no contact from owner, and she is unreachable. It was last registered in 2020. Is there any way for him to make it his, legally?

I'm getting a lot of popups adds. Just wondering if it's just my computer or is every one getting them?

Birds at home have been quiet and out of sight.  Not sure where they went.  Last year they wouldn’t respond to calls - until they did.  But that will be common until the girls quit being friendly.

I've seen about 60 turkeys in 1.5 days of hunting thus far.  Unfortunately they are not responding to calls or decoys and the only birds that have walked within range are hens.   It's just a waiting game now.  Deer hunting for turkeys, hoping a legal one walks past before I have to quit in a few days...

A bunch of webcams available these days to see progress as well:   https://lakevermilionresorts.com/webcams/   Looks to be pulling away from shore. I expect ice out between next Friday and Sunday based on temps in the forecast.  Some sun and then some wind would get it going quickly.

But wait Meg, there's more!   Anyway, do you like fishing?  Trolling's kind of fun!  🤭

Well lol, Google is your friend! 🤭     Yes, the 2012 movie "Loon Lake" was filmed in Minnesota. Specifically, it was shot in southwest Minnesota, with locations including Round Lake, Pioneer Village, and Jackson County. The film is also based on a local legend from southwest Minnesota about a witch who lived by Loon Lake.

Well indeed there is a movie and the trailer will help you near down the 25 lakes a lot by just checking into the Loon Lakes in Southwest, MN.  Should be easy now. Have fun.    Eager to escape the grief and nightmares of the city, Louis Olsen travels to Southwest Minnesota, seeking the peace of the rural countryside. When he accidentally disturbs the grave of a supposed local 'witch' Mary Jane Terlinden, what began as a peaceful reprieve unravels into a haunting nightmare from which Louis cannot escape - but is it all just in his head?

Great. That's usually a good sign for ice break-up.
