my prop slips of of gear in reverse when it is under torque. it runs fine in forward and in reverse with slow rpm but if i increase the rpms it spins out. has anyone else had this problem or know what it is!

Check the linkage on your shift lever, it may not be going all the way into gear. I had a similar problem, it was an easy fix.

I would agree. Your reverse linkage may need to be adjusted, so there's more push into reverse. Should be able to easily adjust with a couple of wrenches.
On my fathers boat, we were able to give a little in forward, in order to gain some in reverse.
