Going to be fishing LOW Friday-Sunday. Thinking about hitting the gap - Anyone been having any luck in that area. We're thinking the warmer weather could turn it into a hot spot.........
FI

You might want to check out the pines. If I would be fishing I might try the river come evening time. Check to see if alot of houses get set up on the river some where to the south of Ballards. I guess it wouldn't hurt to check out Four Mile either. Good luck

First Ice: I was on LOW out of Riverbend Houses on 2/27-3/1. We fished the Gap for three days in 22' of water. A lot of small fish, however we did manage to fill out on eyes. A 26" was released with the fish we kept going 16-19". We also iced a 41" gator. Several houses in the area were picking up decent fish but not in great numbers. I'm headed back next week 3/20, not sure if Riverbend will have more houses in the area or not. The best bite for the larger fish was between 530-700pm. Hope this helps you out. Good luck and hang on. Bill

Here's something to remember, check, think
about....If you plan to ice fish on the river.
March 1 the 2 Walleye limit kicked in on the
Rainey River. 2 fish NONE over 19 1/2 inches.
This applies all the way up to where the
river turns the corner at the end of Wheelers
Point. At that point the River becomes 4 Mile Bay and the 14 fish limit applies.
Curt Quesnell

Pop ups have increased for me for a while now. Timed to cover my usual taps about the time I would tap.

So there is a boat on a friend's property, has been there for about 4 years, with no contact from owner, and she is unreachable. It was last registered in 2020. Is there any way for him to make it his, legally?

I'm getting a lot of popups adds. Just wondering if it's just my computer or is every one getting them?

Birds at home have been quiet and out of sight. Not sure where they went. Last year they wouldn’t respond to calls - until they did. But that will be common until the girls quit being friendly.

I've seen about 60 turkeys in 1.5 days of hunting thus far. Unfortunately they are not responding to calls or decoys and the only birds that have walked within range are hens. It's just a waiting game now. Deer hunting for turkeys, hoping a legal one walks past before I have to quit in a few days...

A bunch of webcams available these days to see progress as well: https://lakevermilionresorts.com/webcams/ Looks to be pulling away from shore. I expect ice out between next Friday and Sunday based on temps in the forecast. Some sun and then some wind would get it going quickly.

But wait Meg, there's more! Anyway, do you like fishing? Trolling's kind of fun! 🤭

Well lol, Google is your friend! 🤭 Yes, the 2012 movie "Loon Lake" was filmed in Minnesota. Specifically, it was shot in southwest Minnesota, with locations including Round Lake, Pioneer Village, and Jackson County. The film is also based on a local legend from southwest Minnesota about a witch who lived by Loon Lake.

Well indeed there is a movie and the trailer will help you near down the 25 lakes a lot by just checking into the Loon Lakes in Southwest, MN. Should be easy now. Have fun. Eager to escape the grief and nightmares of the city, Louis Olsen travels to Southwest Minnesota, seeking the peace of the rural countryside. When he accidentally disturbs the grave of a supposed local 'witch' Mary Jane Terlinden, what began as a peaceful reprieve unravels into a haunting nightmare from which Louis cannot escape - but is it all just in his head?

Great. That's usually a good sign for ice break-up.
