I'll be up this friday around noon and will be fishing out of Cyrus resort houses saturday and sunday, we would like to fish friday afternoon on our own and I'm wondering what would be a good spot to hit. We'll have a sled so we'll be mobile. Do you think it will be warm enough to fish outside this weekend? Wouldn't it be nice not to need a house. If anyone would like to share some GPS coordinates you can send them to [email protected]
Thanks,
Fisherdog

Another question, would you recommend that we pick up some shiners or will fatheads be fine.
Fisherdog

I was up this last weekend and I picked up some shiners in town but they actually didn't do as well as the fatheads did, suprising enough. Usually it's the other way around, but 95% of our fish came on fatheads and all of our big ones hit on fatheads. Good Luck.

Pop ups have increased for me for a while now. Timed to cover my usual taps about the time I would tap.

So there is a boat on a friend's property, has been there for about 4 years, with no contact from owner, and she is unreachable. It was last registered in 2020. Is there any way for him to make it his, legally?

I'm getting a lot of popups adds. Just wondering if it's just my computer or is every one getting them?

Birds at home have been quiet and out of sight. Not sure where they went. Last year they wouldn’t respond to calls - until they did. But that will be common until the girls quit being friendly.

I've seen about 60 turkeys in 1.5 days of hunting thus far. Unfortunately they are not responding to calls or decoys and the only birds that have walked within range are hens. It's just a waiting game now. Deer hunting for turkeys, hoping a legal one walks past before I have to quit in a few days...

A bunch of webcams available these days to see progress as well: https://lakevermilionresorts.com/webcams/ Looks to be pulling away from shore. I expect ice out between next Friday and Sunday based on temps in the forecast. Some sun and then some wind would get it going quickly.

But wait Meg, there's more! Anyway, do you like fishing? Trolling's kind of fun! 🤭

Well lol, Google is your friend! 🤭 Yes, the 2012 movie "Loon Lake" was filmed in Minnesota. Specifically, it was shot in southwest Minnesota, with locations including Round Lake, Pioneer Village, and Jackson County. The film is also based on a local legend from southwest Minnesota about a witch who lived by Loon Lake.

Well indeed there is a movie and the trailer will help you near down the 25 lakes a lot by just checking into the Loon Lakes in Southwest, MN. Should be easy now. Have fun. Eager to escape the grief and nightmares of the city, Louis Olsen travels to Southwest Minnesota, seeking the peace of the rural countryside. When he accidentally disturbs the grave of a supposed local 'witch' Mary Jane Terlinden, what began as a peaceful reprieve unravels into a haunting nightmare from which Louis cannot escape - but is it all just in his head?

Great. That's usually a good sign for ice break-up.
