Shmick,
Are you staying at Sunset?
TD

We have a cabin on oak and are up there in the summer alot, haven't been up there for 2 years in the winter. We will be over to sunset to have some drinks though!!! Any spots to get us started are appreciated!!! Also are there any good spots to tip-up, might try for them big ones, if we get a chance!

Thanks sweept, were you south of angle inn lodge, through the gap by the lodge? There are two small islands just south of there. We fished that spot 2 years ago about this time of year and did very well, did some night fishing and caught some nice burbot, had sunset cook em up for us, good stuff!!!

It's been a couple of years since we stayed at Sunsets, but the last time we were there, Bill was subcontracting the fishing out to an outfit out of the Angle. They worked very hard but the fish weren't cooperating.
However, they did take us out after supper and put us on the pout bed. Unbeliveable!!
We were catching 8 to 11 pound pout like sunfish. Find the biggest, uggliest lure in the box and as J.W. would say "keep the rods a bending". Say Hi to Bill from the Buffalo Boys. Good luck!!
TD

Where abouts is that pout hole? Did you pick up many after dark?
------------------
Where's my crew??

Shmick,
We went out after dark. I'd say around 8pm.
We started from Sunsets went North and followed the Island around. I think it was the bay East of Bonnie Brae. {sp?}
Real close to the Canadian border.
Ask Bill from Sunsets.
Good luck!!!
TD

Pop ups have increased for me for a while now. Timed to cover my usual taps about the time I would tap.

So there is a boat on a friend's property, has been there for about 4 years, with no contact from owner, and she is unreachable. It was last registered in 2020. Is there any way for him to make it his, legally?

I'm getting a lot of popups adds. Just wondering if it's just my computer or is every one getting them?

Birds at home have been quiet and out of sight. Not sure where they went. Last year they wouldn’t respond to calls - until they did. But that will be common until the girls quit being friendly.

I've seen about 60 turkeys in 1.5 days of hunting thus far. Unfortunately they are not responding to calls or decoys and the only birds that have walked within range are hens. It's just a waiting game now. Deer hunting for turkeys, hoping a legal one walks past before I have to quit in a few days...

A bunch of webcams available these days to see progress as well: https://lakevermilionresorts.com/webcams/ Looks to be pulling away from shore. I expect ice out between next Friday and Sunday based on temps in the forecast. Some sun and then some wind would get it going quickly.

But wait Meg, there's more! Anyway, do you like fishing? Trolling's kind of fun! 🤭

Well lol, Google is your friend! 🤭 Yes, the 2012 movie "Loon Lake" was filmed in Minnesota. Specifically, it was shot in southwest Minnesota, with locations including Round Lake, Pioneer Village, and Jackson County. The film is also based on a local legend from southwest Minnesota about a witch who lived by Loon Lake.

Well indeed there is a movie and the trailer will help you near down the 25 lakes a lot by just checking into the Loon Lakes in Southwest, MN. Should be easy now. Have fun. Eager to escape the grief and nightmares of the city, Louis Olsen travels to Southwest Minnesota, seeking the peace of the rural countryside. When he accidentally disturbs the grave of a supposed local 'witch' Mary Jane Terlinden, what began as a peaceful reprieve unravels into a haunting nightmare from which Louis cannot escape - but is it all just in his head?

Great. That's usually a good sign for ice break-up.
