My family and I fished out of Gibbins for the first time on Presidents day. I was extremely happy with everything. From what I heard around here it was a pretty slow weekend for most fishermen on LOTW that weekend. We did not catch a ton of fish either - but the fish we got were very nice. We kept 18 fish for the weekend most being 14" to 17" with two 19's and two 21's. We also released a fair amount of little ones.
Bryant runs a real good business there and I am sure he will treat you right if you go.
His was the first house I have ever rented that was actally warm when I got there. And The kids and dogs were welcome at no extra charge!
He has the nicest and largest houses I have ever fished out of! They are way better stocked than a lot of cabins I have rented over the years (dishes, pots, pans, pot holders, silver, S&P, dish soap, towels, paper towels, matches, cards w/ cribbage board and he even put in a copy of the current fishing regulations)! The house we used had a regular wall furnace with a thermostat - it was the first time I did not roast in a sleeper! The temp stayed even. He also banks them better than any rental I have ever used. The holes did not freeze up over night even when they were covered by the floor boards. It also had a regular sink with a drain plumbed in and had a well working apartment sized stove with oven! And there is a Marine Band radio hooked up to a 12 volt battery. It was great - I was able to scan the channels and listen to the the other resort's bomber drivers (mainly talking about how slow fishing was) and was able to call Bryant when ever I wanted to.
I can't wait to go back again next year!!! Next time I am bringing my 12 volt fillet knife and we are going to have a fish fry. I have never done this in a sleeper before because it was too cramped and clean up would be a pain. In Gibbin's houses it will be as easy as doing it at home!
If you go please give a report.
One last thought - Bryant did not mind me driving my truck with snowmobile trailer out to the fish house (we left our van on shore and the wife and kids rode in the bomber) - Some of the other resorts will not let you do this.
One second last thought -
On their last day there, I heard one of the other guests, on the radio (kind of joking) ask Bryant if it was to late to request a house move. He was more than happy to do it if they wanted but said it would take about a hour and a half to two hours.
Now that's service!!!

I don't think they have fixed much

More playas bite the dust. Probably at least 5 more by the sounds of the reports. Gotta be at least the many so I can be out too!

Have faith. You can see progress and ice depth from previous years on the Eagle Docks FB page. They said 16 inches a day or so ago. A few years back they had 16 inches only a week before official ice out. 60s to even 70s next weekend. It will be gone before opener. I'm planning on docks and lifts next weekend, but I am in a small protected bay that goes out pretty early.

We need optimism right now. The small bays haven't even opened up yet, which is typically two weeks before the big bays lose their ice. The forecast is in our favor though and I see that it's windy today, also a great sign.

Go to the DMV, see if there's a serial number on it. They should be able to title it

I moved my blind right into the middle of the field after I left this morning. It sticks out like a sore thumb on the landscape. A friend advised me to try this. We'll see if it works later. I hate the way it looks without blending in, but I have to try something else.

For a long time I've been getting pop-ups and error pages where I have to back page. I just thought it was the price of playing in the old sand lot! 🤔
