Lake Calhoun Walleye

Recommended Posts

Has anyone been out on Calhoun (MPLS) lately? Just wondering if they have moved out to

the humps or if people are finding them up shallow yet, I know it's been a funny year. I'm new to

fishing the lake so any info could help, not looking for anyone's secrets though of course!

If they act anything like Nokomis walley they are few and far between catches in shallow right now. Usually when temps reach normal, memorial day, temps you have about 1 week left to hit the wind swept shorelines then they go deeper. good luck.

Fished off the dock at calhoun on a rainy day last week. Vexilar was going nuts with panfish. Haven't caught a walleye there in years.

Seen the craziest things though. 48" Tiger musky caught, 6lbs bass try to eat a 12" walleye that a poor old man had intended to have for dinner. Also saw a slab crappie swallow a 3" bass who had a 2" perch halfway in his mouth.

Was out at Nokomis last week with no walleye success. Didn't produce nothing but perch, crappie and a ton of bullheads.

How big are the bullheads you're catching? Any under, say 7"?
