Longville area reports

Recommended Posts

I'm coming up with my brothers to the Green Roof Lodge (Woman Lake) 6/20-6/27 for a week of Walleye fishing.

Last year we did real well on Leech, Ten Mile, Inguadona, and Webb. Not so good on Pleasant, Woman and Boy. This is a different year, though. Any of these local lakes hitting well right now?

Thanks in advance and I'll try and post reports to this thread, if my phone service allows...

Thanks for the reply. I'm looking forward to coming up this weekend.

I got a report this morning from a guy who is up in Longville for the week and he has just started getting into the big Walleyes. This warm weather will get the big ones going.

Four years ago our group fished the Walleye Classic on Leech. The four days preceding the tourney were very warm and the water temps went from 57deg to 63deg. We absolutely KILLED the big fish that week. My older brother finished #5 in the tourney just behind gofishleech from the forum (guide Tom Wilson). I was just out of the money fishing the same spot. With the warm weather this week it looks like we should have a similiar situation. If the water temp is low sixties by Friday, those Leech walleyes are in BIG trouble (so to speak...we release everything)

What is the water temp on Woman?

Well, we're on our way in a couple hours. I've got a few reports from local lakes which are very encouraging. I'll give a report when I return 6/28. It doesn't look like I can post to this site from my cell phone...

Can anybody give me any idea about how the fishing is on Mann lake next to Baby? I'm staying there at a resort over the 4th of July week and want to know if the lake will be "prime" for walleye and panfish action? I have two little boys under 5yo and I need to put them on some kind of action.

Also any smallie and muskie reports on this lake?

thanks,

mr

I was out on the lake last Friday night and the Mayflies were thick! I only caught (2) small Walleyes and decided I would find another lake where the hatch was not happening. I would guess that the Walleye bite was tough on Woman over the weekend due to the large amount of natural food that is available during the Mayfly hatch.

Well, I promised a report...

I was shocked at how good Leech Lake was. We went there on Thursday and fished from 9AM-2:00PM. My boat caught 60+ lbs of walleye in those five hours and the water was like glass with not a cloud in the sky. Our boat caught 14 Walleyes 24" or bigger on Leech and my brothers boat did about the same. AWESOME! We did well on the smaller local lakes also. One of the local lakes we were catching 50+ Walleyes a day. Not as many big fish this year (I think we caught 5 over 26") with the biggest one 27.5". Overall we had great fishing with perfect weather all week. Can't ask for more than that...
