Crane to Lac La Croix

Recommended Posts

Just wondering how long of a boat ride to get from Crane Lake to Lake Lac La Croix. I am staying at Waters Edge and would like to get to Lac La Croix and fish for some lakers....any comments or suggestions? Is it an all day trip or could I get there in a couple hours? I have a Lund Pro Sport with a 90hp.

Thanks!

Call Trent or Beth at Water's Edge. They have all the info and CONDITIONS. Water is extremely high and many docks are either under or very close to being under water in the entire area.

You can do it easily as a day trip. I've done it many times. Just go slow in the river until you know it because there are a few rocks you can hit. Most places you launch at Crane someone would be there who could tell you the several to watch for on a basic map. It's a beautiful and unique ride with portages and all. We were in there a few years ago and saw a guy catch an honest to goodness 35 lb northern trolling big Rapala's with his wife in a biege fiberglass tri-hull!!
