Lake Grace in chaska

Is there anything in lake grace in chaska, or is it a dead sea??? I was there last night and had some hits but must have been small couldn't hook it. Deepest spot i found was probally 13 or 14'??? anybody have any experence with this small lake?

Never fished it in the winter, but I have fished it years ago and we did rather well for Northerns, Bass, Gills and Crappies. We would catch all the fish on a mepps-can't remember the size mepps - maybe a 2. The crappies were decent size - 10" - 12" or so and the northerns were too - 5 to 10 lb'ers. I do believe that this lake does suffer from winter kill pretty bad though. Good luck and drop me an line if you ever do find them on that lake, I have always wanted to try that lake

Lake Grace has tons of crappie in it. I only fished it once in the winter and didn't get anything but in the spring of the year you can sit right on the shore by the pavillion and see all of the fish just hanging in the water. There is usually a lot of people who fish it in the spring but I'm not sure everyone is fishing it legally. There always used to be one or two guys who fished regularly in the winter, usually for the dusk bite.

I was out there a few weeks ago and fished the evening. Caught a ton of six inch crappies and a few sunnies. I fish there a couple times a year and honestly I only catch a handfull big enough to keep. It almost seems that the fish do not grow in that lake.----------good luck

Jeff, i also live in chaska, i am wondering maybe you could give me some info on what part of the lake you usually ice fish, i think i might have seen you out before. Do you fish in the middle of the lake? I have seen shacks out there. What is the deepest point of the lake? I am probally going to go out there tonight and drill a bunch of holes and check depths, since i only fish it in the summer time on the north side by the creek that joins the two lakes.

Hey Kodiak I am from CHaska as well...I hope to hear what you find out on the lake because I just live across 41 from there and it would be nice and close

I have seen some very nice crappies come out of that lake a few years ago! Have not heard anything lately! I seen one come out of there that was just under 3 lbs! What a hog it was!!
