I was out on the lake yesterday and there are a ton of house's spread all over the lake. Can anyone tell me what they are catching?? We were out there for about 3 hours and didnt mark 1 fish. With how many house's are out there they have to be catching something.

I've heard they've been catching some nice crappies and a few walleyes on Buffalo. I have a friend that lives in St.Michael. I'm not sure what time of day they're catching them though.

There must be 3 cities of houses out there. We were straight out to the right from the boat launch with that group of houses.

I have a buddy who's been out there since early ice. He was doing well with Crappies and a few nice Walleyes, but now that the circus has come to town, he's pulling his house out. There must be a thousand houses out there now.

I was out there this weekend both Sat and Sun mornings. I was fishing the hole and sorted through to keep a limit both days. I have to admit that when ever a truck pulled up or a 4 wheeler came by, I caught a fish. SOmetimes I think the commotion turns the fish on. I had good luck for walleyes one week. I was in 26 fow and kept 6 eyes that were 17 " I caught them on three different trips. HAs anyone had any success catching the eyes in the 30 ft +. Since I went deeper Ihave not caught any but have wacked the crappies. Sunday morning I have never seen the crappies so stacked up on the vex in the four plus years I have owned one.

I think it all helps to create motion and confusion to keep their attention away from the blinds.  The hurricanes seemed pretty important though.  6 of them per spread and moved around dependent on wind direction.  Some tall silo socks mixed in with them too.  Kill hole in the middle with a few decoys clustered over the e call.  That was about 25 yards from the blinds.  7-8 batteries to run everything.  2000 decoys per spread.   I wasn’t the shot caller.  We were taking them at about 40 yards on average but I believe we could’ve gotten a lot of them feet down.  We all remember the single Ross’ that broke off from a group of snows hovering at 100+ yards and took the elevator all the way down to its demise.  The shot was called just before it lit but we were all sure if it was left alone, the audience above would’ve joined.  It was mesmerizing to watch to watch how much they work a spread without flapping their wings much.   These pics were waiting for them to come down closer.  They did.

Never hunted conservation season. Actually get birds feet down or longer shots? I've been running battery operated flappers but does the rotary machine really help?
