Hey guys, these are two lakes in the area of my cousins house. We fished them from shore and in a small creek, we did ok on little bass and sunnies. I was wondering though if anyone has or knows if they are icefishable. The DNR site says they are real shallow, does anyone know if they are spring fed or have aerators?

I dont need any spots (but would be happy to hear some) was mainly just curious if the ice was safe.

Thanks for any help.

Was looking at these lakes on the dnr website. Looks like the max depths are about 6 and 4. Both would have to have aerators for any fish to survive, so be careful if you fish on them, although the surveys didn't look promising.

I fished the lakes before I looked them up on the DNR website and was suprised. I figured they would be a bit deeper with more and bigger fish. But then again the surveys were done in '68 in think.

Mud lake is just that-mud/muck, only a foot or so deep in most areas. I have duck hunted out there a few times, unless you have a 20' canoe you ain't goin nowhere. I'm sure it gets frozen solid and hence would not support any aquatic life other than tadpoles. I have also duck hunted on Howard, I know that carp exist there in large numbers, they make quite a ruckus in the fall. I would imagine there are a few sunnies and bullheads too. There are a lot of good lakes in this area, I wouldn't waste my time on either of these two (unless your duck hunting).
