Spent the afternoon on Riley and didn't have any luck at all. I had never been on the lake before and wanted to fish away from the other houses. I picked the point on the North side of the lake and hit many depths from 8ft. to 20 ft. I noticed there were quite a few people still fishing when I left around 5:45pm. I'm wondering if they are catching Crappies or Walleyes, anyone know?

If you look back at the previous posts this winter about Riley, no one has been able to locate any fish. I caught one pike when I was there, as did one other person who posted, but i don't think anyone else has caught a thing. It's weird, but I'm done with the lake this winter, not worth it.

I was out there a week ago yesterday. I caught about 15 crappies right off that point that was mentioned in about 25' of water. Nothing huge but a 6 8-10" for the frying pan. They didn't start biting until after 6 and really started biting when the wind started kicking up. Went for a ride and figured it wasn't worth staying out. I will definitely be hitting this lake again. Plenty of crop action.

The crappies are hitting good in the center of the north bay---nothing over 10". If your after walleyes you might want to try a different lake because it is really slow this year. I have talked to several people who fish it regularly and have only caught a few the entire season. I have had some luck on some large pike fishing tipups with large shiners in 27-30 feet this year.

Thanks for the replies Jeff. I saw the guys fishing in the bay, but really wanted to try away from the crowds. I was just curious as to what they were catching.
