We are planning a trip to LOW towards the end of May. Would anybody recommend Schusters Resort at this time of the year? Would most of our fishing be done in the main lake or down the river?
Any information on the resort or the fishing would be great.
Thanks

A couple weeks after opener is a great time to be fishing around there. You can get fish in the lake and the river. I would consider it one best times of year over here, especially for numbers with easy fishing. The waters warming and fish are inshore and shallower. Schusters is right down on the lower end of the river, the Gap and Morris Gap are out thru 4-mile bay and these areas are filled with boats and fish. Plenty of fish in the river at this time of year too, and it's there if the weathers blowing bad. Lots and lots of fishing options. Of course alot depends on the weather, and spring conditions in general, but the fish will be there somewhere biting. There is a big PWT tournament up here the end of May out of the public access up here....Doubt they throw one of those shows here if the fishing was'nt good!
You'll get fish.
Regards....Fisky

Should we be concerned on fishing in that area while the PWT tournament is going on? I know its a big lake but just curious if the tournament will bring to many anglers up there and push us "LOW rookies" down the river?
Anybody with any other info on Schusters would be great.
Thanks

I don't know if you want to wait this long to book, but I'm headed up with six guys to Schusters March 14-18th and would be happy to give you any info I could regarding the resort when we get back. 1st timer to the big lake and can't wait to give it a try.
Melitrade

Thanks Melitrade
If you could give me a report when you get back, that would be great. Just called up there yesterday and they still have some opening for when we want to go and are probably going to book it this week.

I don't think they have fixed much

More playas bite the dust. Probably at least 5 more by the sounds of the reports. Gotta be at least the many so I can be out too!

Have faith. You can see progress and ice depth from previous years on the Eagle Docks FB page. They said 16 inches a day or so ago. A few years back they had 16 inches only a week before official ice out. 60s to even 70s next weekend. It will be gone before opener. I'm planning on docks and lifts next weekend, but I am in a small protected bay that goes out pretty early.

We need optimism right now. The small bays haven't even opened up yet, which is typically two weeks before the big bays lose their ice. The forecast is in our favor though and I see that it's windy today, also a great sign.

Go to the DMV, see if there's a serial number on it. They should be able to title it

I moved my blind right into the middle of the field after I left this morning. It sticks out like a sore thumb on the landscape. A friend advised me to try this. We'll see if it works later. I hate the way it looks without blending in, but I have to try something else.

For a long time I've been getting pop-ups and error pages where I have to back page. I just thought it was the price of playing in the old sand lot! 🤔
