Forest or Clear Lake

Does anybody have any reports on either of these lakes? I'm thinking of going out Sat. Thanks!

I was out on Forest Lake Sunday and it was way too busy. The airplanes got to the point of being annoying and the motor vehicle traffice was steady. The fishing was not so hot either. Clear Lake might be the one to go to.

Thanks! I've never iced fished on either before. I was kind a leaning towards clear just for smaller size. How thick was the ice on forest?

I hit clear on Xmas day and got some crappie axtion...not too big though...north shanty town...28' of water.

I was on Forest Lake...in the narrows between 2&3 on Friday afternoon...a lot of plane traffic and snowmobile axtion. Caught a lot of small panfish...and then the northerns hit a little bit starting at 3:30pm...muscled a couple through the ice...not much size on those either. Hit forest again yesterday for a couple hours...wind storm...no snow on the ice so that kept the snowmobilers away which was nice. But not much axtion for northerns...but I wasn't out during primetime either though.

I may give forest lake a try this weekend. its about a mile from my house so it will give me a new lake to try. Although I have never fished forest I hope a catch something. If not I'll try big marine.

I was out on lake 3 Thursday morning. Fishing was not good, I had trouble even marking fish. Very few people on lake three. They all seemed to be between lake 2 and 3.

I was out on the mighty F.L. last night. I have lived on the lake for 20 years and it is rare when I don't ice a couple of eyes. I was out last night fishing a brake from 10 to a huge 20 ft flat. I was in 17 feet of water with no one near me. We iced 3 eyes: one 18, and 2 15's. Not bad. We also hooked into a couple of slimers and we had consistent action on the craps. Couple of 10 plus. Tossed them all back F.L. holds on to some nice fish you just need to know where and when to fish them.

I fished Forest monday and me and my partner caught (& released) well over our limit of little Crappies... Maybe could have kept 4 or 5 of them... Did get one northern too...
