Just wondering how the ice is moving in Stuntz Bay, wondering if boat travel to the first Island with the beautiful Log Cabin would be possibly by the weekend. Thanks for Any Info

Don't know for sure but I would say the chance of it being water this weekend would be slim. Maybe someone over that way can chime in.

I drove down to Stuntz Bay this evening and checked it out. There is a small 50 foot patch of open water in front of the landing, the rest of the bay is still white ice.

any updates on stuntz, is it possible with some wind and rain the next couple days to get to the fancy log cabin on the first island???? I know the owners would certainly like to get there, and I would like to get there and visit. Thanks for any updates.

You could always do the thing the people who lived on an island near taylors island did. scoot a canoe over the ice by pushing with a pole, or by standing and pushing with one foot on the ice and one in the canoe.

That is practical for a ways. How far do you need to go? I wouldn't want to do that for a long ways.

He would have close to 3/8 of a mile push, as the island is right in the Stuntz Bay entrance.

Without the snow 3/8ths of a mile would seem doable with if one was motivated. The snow might make it more painful.

Only water in the little channel, big channel had very little water. So, I guess you could parachute in......

just back from stuntz bay, pretty punky looking ice but lots of it. Enough roon to launch a boat and thats about it. looks like someone tryed to break ice for 5 yards or so and a few 8 inch thick ice blocks floated into shore. could be a week or more
