I need some advice. I just bought a new portable at the ice fishing show and it's not a sled type. It's a 8x8 with a wood floor and I have been racking my brain trying to figure out how to pull it with my atv. I'm thinking of using my atv trailer, but it doesn't have sides.

Any advice on the smoothest way to do this would be great.

Thanks

Ole

Ole you could go to the goodwill and buy an old pair of cross-country skis, then attach them to 2 by 4's and clamp them onto the shack with wood clamps. Unclamp when you want to set up.

That's a good idea, thank you.

I have a flip style with a tounge that hooks up to my atv. Not a bad idea to rig up a tow bar or something instead of a rope (keeps the shack from passing you when you stop or hitting the atv).

Well my uncle used this idea get some old wood water skis and bolt them to the bottom of the house and your set

I would go with the waterskis or the same idea using downhill skis. The only reason being is that downhill and waterskis are much wider than cross country skis. Or pick up 2-4 pairs of x-country skies. They can be fairly cheap. I dont know what part of town you are in but there is a goodwill type store on Winnetka and 42nd in new hope that used to always have a barrel of skis and they were always pretty cheap. I havent been there in a year or so but may be worth checking out.
