Does anyone have any reports from Minnewashta? I'm just curious as I read a few people where thinking of heading out there. I might consider it for next weekend as my step-dad is coming up and I'd like to put him on some pole-bending.

I went out there on Friday morning, was the only person out there. I caught 8 Northerns, half jigging and the other 4 on tip ups. The best bite, as in past years, has been from sun-up, until 9:30 a.m. Good Luck!

Oh yeah, there was plenty of solid ice too.

8 notherns, that's pretty good. Any size to any of them?

Eight northerns per morning has by far been the slowest I have ever seen it there. I do release all of the Northerns and the Bass are all regulated catch and release by the DNR. On good days there seems to be no preference between suckers/shiner or alive/dead.
I park at either accesses in the park, yes you do have to pay, it is $4 per car. One access is in Little Minnewashta (a bay of Minnewashta) and the other is on the main lake, from that access, it is near a large hump (which harbors pike, bass, and perch during winter) and also near the point, that has a steep drop on the south side. Good Luck!

Where do you launch from and do you have to pay to park at the Regional Park?
Thanks!
