I'm already looking forward to this coming weekend of walleye feeding grin.gif
Who's gonna be in the Zipple bay area this weekend ?
I plan on being 10-12 miles past Pine Island on Friday morning. I'll be sure to have the Crown.
Fisky, if you're in the area let me know, I still have a rock-n-reel with your name on it. And since I'll have the truck, I'll have an antenna to tie the Crown bag to wink.gif
Twitter
[This message has been edited by Twitter (edited 02-24-2003).]
[This message has been edited by Twitter (edited 02-24-2003).]

Hey Twitter,
Will be fishing LOTW Friday and Saturday as well. Fishing out of Riverview so I'm sure they'll have us somewhere out beyond Pine (maybe not that far). Wish I would have known about your extension before I sold my soul to Strikemaster to get one. $23.50 plus shipping would have bought a hell of a bottle of Crown! Needed the extension 'cause we plan on fishing Red on Sunday before heading home.
Bart.

Bart,
I'll be bouncin from Red to LOW all weekend....until I finally drop.
I'll be in a red Ford super crew, blue clam 5600, and have a yellow lab along. Stop by if you see us or maybe we can compare note at WW smile.gif
Good Luck !

Will be up on friday morning about 9 miles out from Pine in a friends sleeper.
Can't wait, sounds like good weather for the weekend finally!

Twitter, be sure to keep the lab away from those jigs with live minni's laying around. Last year my wirehair picked a friend's up luckly she was only hooked lightly behind her front teeth.

Old Guide,
My lab learned her lesson with lures when she was just a pup. She got a Rapala through her upper lip....OUCH, I was amazed how calmly she sat in my lap as I cut the barb with a dikes and let me take it out ! (but I did have the better half holding her at the same time) Ever since, she stays away from lures.....what really drives her nuts is when she gets line wrapped around her legs.....!
I think my lab's more of a fish dog than a bird dog ! She's spent more time on the ice with me than she has in the woods chasing birds.

LOL! One of dogs, a springer (Irving, oddly enough) is very visual. He loves to watch a properly balanced minnow and bobber bouncing in the hole. He can stare at it for hours. If the bobber goes down, he hops off the cot and peers down the hole to see where it went, and then he revs up for the fight. He loves it! Old Irving has caught dozens of fish in his life. My wirehair just poaches them. If you toss them out your door, shes likely to retrieve it to mine, although one year she did wrestle a carp up onto shore that was caught in a carp net on the creek feeding into Forest lake.
You know how many bird hunters would rather hunt with 1 good dog than 3 good friends? I add fishing to that list also......
L.O.B.S.
[Loyal Order of the Butt Sniffers]

I'll be out Fri-Sun fishing out of Birch Views houses. I heard they have them about 11 miles out from Pine. Driving a maroon Chevy 1/2 ton with topper, stop in the cold one will be flowing!

O.K. Guess I better add my dog story. I have a lub-mutt mix that hates water but loves fishing - out of a boat or on hard water. When we're in the boat she will jump up on the side of the boat every time I close the bale while trolling, anticipating the fight. A couple of years ago it was just me and her in the boat trolling - I'm up front running the trolling motor and she's in the back lying down. I decided to check my bait so I closed the bale. About 3 seconds later I hear this big KAPLUSH! After sitting there for a couple seconds trying to figure out what kind of a whale could make that kind of a splash it suddenly dawns on me and I turn around. There's poor old Bailey 20 yards behind the boat making a sound with her paws just like a paddlewheeler as she tries to keep up with the boat. When I finally got her to the stern of the boat the real fun began. Ever try to wrestle a 70 lb soaking wet mutt over the stern of a boat while a 20 mph wind is blowing you into the bull rushes? Needless to say, I was just as wet as she was when I finally had her safe and sound back on the deck!
It didn't dampen her spirit though. She still never turns down a chance to go fishin' although I think when we're ice fishing she doesn't have a clue as to what she's standing on!
Bart

I don't think they have fixed much

More playas bite the dust. Probably at least 5 more by the sounds of the reports. Gotta be at least the many so I can be out too!

Have faith. You can see progress and ice depth from previous years on the Eagle Docks FB page. They said 16 inches a day or so ago. A few years back they had 16 inches only a week before official ice out. 60s to even 70s next weekend. It will be gone before opener. I'm planning on docks and lifts next weekend, but I am in a small protected bay that goes out pretty early.

We need optimism right now. The small bays haven't even opened up yet, which is typically two weeks before the big bays lose their ice. The forecast is in our favor though and I see that it's windy today, also a great sign.

Go to the DMV, see if there's a serial number on it. They should be able to title it

I moved my blind right into the middle of the field after I left this morning. It sticks out like a sore thumb on the landscape. A friend advised me to try this. We'll see if it works later. I hate the way it looks without blending in, but I have to try something else.

Im getting a ton of them also. So bad that I have to back out of the site and retry. Anyway to prevent them?

For a long time I've been getting pop-ups and error pages where I have to back page. I just thought it was the price of playing in the old sand lot! 🤔
