Im with Fisky on this one. Pink/glow on sunny days and gold/pink or green on cloudy days.
Angel eyes, little cleos, Blue fox Tinglers, Northland rattle spoons and forage minnow spoons all are good choices in gold or variuos other colors. Anything with glow mixed in seems to work. Dont forget about plain jigheads or hooks. Especially on a bobber or deadstick.

Pink/White Glow Angel Eye, also on sunny days the orange and green Angel Eye.
Pink or Red Gamagatsu colored hooks have been deadly also.
Can't go wrong with gold either though.

Diddo above,
I have also had luck on those Tech no glo rattlers /red. That has caught some really nice fish. Including lots of jumbos and a # of 25" + walleyes.
Johnny

I'll sum it up in three words....green yellow buckshot!

Like everyone else, I'm a big gold fan. My dad always used to say, "there are three colors to use on LOW- gold, gold, and gold." However, I'm surprised to see nobody mention orange or chartruese/yellow. I like each of these colors and both together.
Scoot

If I had to pick only one color - summer, winter, spring, or fall - it would be....
CHARTRUESE
There was an article in Outdoor News about this, and I really had to agree, so that is why I asked.

Which shade of Chartruese?

Posted

Pink/glow buchshots, orange/glow rev jigs, perch is good. Gold and silver are good. Pink/gold is good too. Blue has been good for me in the river.

Posted

I'll 2nd Blue in the river.
Hogeye have you been fishing on the river latly?

Posted

No not lately.

Fisky,
Somehow I think you're giving me hell! Admittedly, I'm color blind so chartruese, yellow, lime green- it's all the same to me. When I say chartruese I'm referring to florescent yellow- nice bright yellow.
However, I think your question was meant to point out my girlish colors. At least I didn't say I prefer pastels (whatever the hell they are). grin.gif
Scoot
