I've been following your posts daily as well as others since my last trip to LOW. On the way back next Thursday and also mid March. Just wondering if either of you have talked to Glenn at Riverbend recently. I've tried calling Brian and either Glenn has him cleaning fish late into the night or Chrissy (his wife) is keeping him to herself. No big deal on this info just if you have time. thanks, maybe we will run into each other on this trip. Bill

Tell you the truth Bill I have'nt been east of LP since early January. Have'nt been into Riverbend since suppertime back in August, YUM!
Curts pretty tight with that crew and may chime in when he's done with his radio show.
I do start getting back over that way come mid-march and we are indeed overdue for that Barley pop eh.
I am expecting you to get that 12ver this year too!
Fisky

Thanks for the reply. We will be at Riverbend on Feb27-28 and leave the afternoon of Mar 1. I will also be back on March 20-21-22. Maybe we can find a cold one on one of those days. Bill

It is so tough to get Glen on the phone.
The schedule these guys keep all winter
would kill a mortal man.
The girls try to be helpful (unless its me on
the phone). The only time I talk to Glen
is when he takes a day "off" to fix cabins
and the like.
Glen is very lucky to have Brian and yes
even Richard on the ice from day to day.
When I am up that way I try to stop for breakfast. Glen has breakfast around 7 am.

Curt Quesnell
Bill:
Sorry I don't know the crew over there. I don't fish over on the east side too often.
I actually haven't fished all that much the last month or so, only a day here and there.
My boy is in youth hockey so I've been around hard ice, but the fishing isn't so hot.
Hockey is done in mid March, and I'm planning on hitting it hard again through ice-out. I'm glad I got a lot of fishing time in earlier in the year when things were red hot, or I'd be going nuts about now.
Take care, maybe see you up north here one day.

Thanks guys for your posts much appreciated. yes the hours all of these folks put in at the resorts in the winter are ungodly. You really have to love what you do. No matter how tired they are, they are always willing to stop and B/S and have one for the road. Looking forward to 5am Thursday morning, not the 4 1/2 hour drive however, but a great time is always had. thanks again, maybe we'll run into each other, in the meantime Good luck and hang on. PS Widetrack, I spent 22 years in hockey with three of my boys so I know where you're comin' from. Those are some great memories though, and who knows your boy wouldn't be the first from your part of the State to make the big time. Good luck to him....later guys..Bill

I don't think they have fixed much

More playas bite the dust. Probably at least 5 more by the sounds of the reports. Gotta be at least the many so I can be out too!

Have faith. You can see progress and ice depth from previous years on the Eagle Docks FB page. They said 16 inches a day or so ago. A few years back they had 16 inches only a week before official ice out. 60s to even 70s next weekend. It will be gone before opener. I'm planning on docks and lifts next weekend, but I am in a small protected bay that goes out pretty early.

We need optimism right now. The small bays haven't even opened up yet, which is typically two weeks before the big bays lose their ice. The forecast is in our favor though and I see that it's windy today, also a great sign.

Go to the DMV, see if there's a serial number on it. They should be able to title it

I moved my blind right into the middle of the field after I left this morning. It sticks out like a sore thumb on the landscape. A friend advised me to try this. We'll see if it works later. I hate the way it looks without blending in, but I have to try something else.

For a long time I've been getting pop-ups and error pages where I have to back page. I just thought it was the price of playing in the old sand lot! 🤔
