Back from Ely and had a great time! ST and GO, thanks for all the info. The stream trout cooperated and we iced a number of splake, brook and rainbows from a few lakes in the area. Most took a pink/glow angel eye (not just for Red Lake crappies anymore). Tried other stuff but tough to go against the success of the AE. The weather was outstanding and scenery even better. Tough to beat pine trees, rocks, snow and very few people to go along with good fishing. That's what brings us back.

Tues. we tried our hand at lakers on some spots that GO kindly showed us, but with no success. Left us wondering that old question of when to move or wait it out to see if they would suddenly get active(same dilemma as muskie fishing). Also tried crappies on Farm and Bass. Caught some small ones on Bass and none on Farm. We did alot of fishing in three days and still not enough. So --- we'll be back.

BTW, the folks at Silver Rapids Lodge were great. Give them a call if you go up.

Good report, Ethan. The pannies in Bass these last few years are definitely on the small side, though there are a lot of them. Good catching, not so good keeping.

Glad you got into the streamers. Too bad you ran into laker lockjaw. \:\(
