I don't have a report yet but on Friday (I finally was able to get a day off work!!) I will be out there and will post on Sunday when I get home. Anyway, does anyone have any suggestions for a BSL newbie?

Try the north end, depending on what the weather does, there will be trucks everywhere. Pick a spot! They will be after crappies and Tulibees. My Dad has been out there everyday and the fishing is getting better but it's not "Hot" yet, giver a couple weeks! Good Luck

It is picking up for sure.It rained yesterday, then snowed a bit.

It's gonna be down to just ice in 5-8 days.

CK,

I assume the ice is still really thick even with some of these warm days and rain. I am hoping to drive out on BSL next week. What have you seen for ice thickness? Thanks.

Thanks guys! What would be the best access to go out of to get to the north side - The one on the northwest corner right off of 65?

There is a ton of ice, talked to my Dad, he was out yesterday and the auger just broke through, anymore ice and we would need extensions. I am sure there are spots on the lake where you would need an extension.

Go down from old traders post to get on the lake.

I caught your post about your past and you get nothing but that aboy for your post. I've have had my personal problems and understand how curtain people can twist things up. Back to fishing I was on BSL for first time this year for crappies, got out to late and forgot my ice scoop in fish house at home. Question what depths and time of day is best. Any help would be much appreciated.

Your best bet is to hit the lake by sun up and they hit hard for those first few hours ,but they will bite all day with spurts through out the day.Once it gets to about 4 or 5 they shut down.

Went to Franconia on Saturday. Wind was cold and miserable! With it howling straight downstream, my options were pretty limited, so we mostly trolled up and down the main channel. Caught 1 pike, 2 smallies, and 1 white bass.

Things seem to be moving right along.  Yesterday on a small Cass county lake we found sunfish and crappies in 6ft+/- ft of water with some crappies already on beds.

Looks like it was a successful outing ST. My boat probably  hates me as I haven't had it out for a swim yet. MAYBE, if I'm lucky I will be able to get out over Memorial weekend. Thanks for the report.

Most of the streams are small. Where I focus is the small streams in the back country for brook trout. Casting is hard on these streams. Some of the bigger rivers can be good. Remember the crazy rules on these streams.

Wow Eyeguy you can catch them and panfish. Keep it up and let’s hear about some details.

The walleye bite is heating up around the area. Bass are on the beds and panfish are keeping most anglers busy. Remember the new pike regs are in place now. Good luck and let’s hear some reports and see some more photos!! Thank you to all that check my reports. I am off to get some fishing in.

The last few days have been pretty hot on areas of the river for a lot of nice bass between 16-18 inches, topping out at 19 inches for my largest. Many were fish located on spawning beds, some hitting aggressively and immediately, and some not interested in even acknowledging the bait. I started out with a 4 inch wacky worm on a VMC wacky weedless jighead, but found that I was getting larger, more aggressive fish by switching to a 5 inch wacky. I would Imagine that the spawn will be all but over within a few days.
