I will be fishing the St. Croix for the first time ever this Saturday. Given the temps I figure that I should be ok to drive this weekend, but thought I'd check with the locals. Will I be ok? And are there any roads in place so I know that I'm in a relatively safe area?

I'm hoping to get my grandfather into a few crappies as he hasn't done so in years! I've heard to head north, but thats all I know. Anyone have any tips? Thanks everyone.

Ill add that the ice is good for driving around Bayport. Anywhere else you may find yourself in trouble.

good by shore... not as good in the center. I would be leary driving where your not sure. drill some holes, check some depths. You may be able to see where vehicles have been. might still be good there.
