Had some guys out last week with portables fishing near the Pine Island and Morris Gap area and they did well on big fish. Not so many eaters, but they took home 2 29" and also released lots of big fish. Should get better and better as the warm weather approaches.
------------------
Terri Fischbach of Walleye Retreat

We will be up friday morning about 8miles out of Adrian's road.
Has anyone heard about that area? and how about shiner supply in Baudette?

Bring an extension for your auger. Ice was pretty thick out there, barely got through with a 12" extension. Fishing was poor for us on Saturday lots of tulibee. I suggest moving West towards Arnesons reef.
Milkdud

Milkdud seems correct. We had the same experience last weekend. 16 mile was the best for us. 30' of water. Lots of nice sized eaters and a few over 19.5.
Pine was slow except a few nice sauger and whitefish.

Jar Mar: Adrians resort has shiners, as does Lucky's bait in Baudette. To be honest the fatheads were outperforming the Shiners this weekend over Pine near the gap. Good luck and hang on. Bill

tjz123, I was about 9-10 miles out past pine island to the east side of Adrian's road in about 30 feet of water. I was marking fish like crazy later found out that they were tulibee. Started catching them consistently using a small forage minnow with treble hook (pink, blue, glow) and a fathead minnow pinched in half.
Milkdud

Pop ups have increased for me for a while now. Timed to cover my usual taps about the time I would tap.

So there is a boat on a friend's property, has been there for about 4 years, with no contact from owner, and she is unreachable. It was last registered in 2020. Is there any way for him to make it his, legally?

I'm getting a lot of popups adds. Just wondering if it's just my computer or is every one getting them?

Birds at home have been quiet and out of sight. Not sure where they went. Last year they wouldn’t respond to calls - until they did. But that will be common until the girls quit being friendly.

I've seen about 60 turkeys in 1.5 days of hunting thus far. Unfortunately they are not responding to calls or decoys and the only birds that have walked within range are hens. It's just a waiting game now. Deer hunting for turkeys, hoping a legal one walks past before I have to quit in a few days...

A bunch of webcams available these days to see progress as well: https://lakevermilionresorts.com/webcams/ Looks to be pulling away from shore. I expect ice out between next Friday and Sunday based on temps in the forecast. Some sun and then some wind would get it going quickly.

But wait Meg, there's more! Anyway, do you like fishing? Trolling's kind of fun! 🤭

Well lol, Google is your friend! 🤭 Yes, the 2012 movie "Loon Lake" was filmed in Minnesota. Specifically, it was shot in southwest Minnesota, with locations including Round Lake, Pioneer Village, and Jackson County. The film is also based on a local legend from southwest Minnesota about a witch who lived by Loon Lake.

Well indeed there is a movie and the trailer will help you near down the 25 lakes a lot by just checking into the Loon Lakes in Southwest, MN. Should be easy now. Have fun. Eager to escape the grief and nightmares of the city, Louis Olsen travels to Southwest Minnesota, seeking the peace of the rural countryside. When he accidentally disturbs the grave of a supposed local 'witch' Mary Jane Terlinden, what began as a peaceful reprieve unravels into a haunting nightmare from which Louis cannot escape - but is it all just in his head?

Great. That's usually a good sign for ice break-up.
