Recommended Posts

Has anyone ever had luck at late night fishing or is it just before sunrise and after sunset? Need to know soon, might go out later tonight.

It doesn't hurt to try it out does it? Like I said i have had luck with late night crappies in the past and it does depend on the lake you are fishing. The 13 foot lake could be going strong all night long for all you know.

I have found decent crappie at noon and midnight. Too much depends on the lake itself. Is there a ton? Or a few? Learn your lake and put in your time. Try different times and if they are worth finding you will eventually find the right time.

most likely I follow this rule[except late ice]

1.clear water=low light bite

2.dingy water=anytime could be right...

Impossible to say unless we are talking about a particular lake - Even on Prior I would say that Upper is more likely to kick out crappies during the day than Lower because of the poorer water clarity in Upper, but I also know of dirty water lakes in the area where they only bite in the evening as well.

Bassphish, said Hit it. If lake is clear you fish it from before sunset to after sunrise. Mucky lakes all day long evenings will work with glow baits.

its seems to me where i fish i catch nice big slabs in less then 10 feet of water,(clearwater and sometimes dirty) all through the winter, but at night i do go out to my 20 foot spot and do pretty [PoorWordUsage] good to so i think people should just try various depths no matter the water clarity.
