I mean come on, I could have won a draw out there. I hate the Nucks so bad. I really hate the Sedin boys. All they do is whine and cry. Someone needs to cheap shot Cooke and put him out of his misery. How do you give up 36 shots to the Canucks? All they have is one line that can score. I am pretty ticked at my local club right now. Since they took tonight off they beater beat the Blackhawks tomorrow night.

AHHHHHAHAHAHAHA, funny post!

Looks like they did exactly what I said they have been doing. \:\(

Kane is probably gonna light 'em up tomorrow night. lol

J/K guys, I'm a Wild fan too. \:\)

Very pathetic game last night, it was the 1st game in over a week I have watched due to being in Mexico all last week and it was the worst game I have watched all year. Hopefully tonight they can turn it around and get 2 points.

I feel your pain, brother. I was there last night and witnessed the ugliest game by our boys I have ever been to. God-awful. How can you not be up and ready for the Canucks? I wonder what happens Sunday when our other arch-rival enemy Calgary comes to the X? I pray it is not a repeat of last night, because I am going to that one, too.

Same old story, at one point in the 3rd face offs were 25 to 15 and shots on goal were worse than that.......that's really sad.

Those Sedin boys......well, they make me want to see the Hanson Brothers line come out of retirement!

One more thing: Why did Fedoruk get the 10 minute misconduct? Even the instigator minor added on was questionable, both sets of gloves and sticks fell at the same time. But the misconduct took any aggression out of the Wild's game, do one thing and you're screwed for the rest of the night??

He got the misconduct beacause I believe if one of your players gets checked and you jump in you get the instigator and the 10 minute misconduct. They want the players not to jump in after a player gets cleanly hit.

I guess that makes sense, but really that's what the instigator additional minor is meant for.

Wonder if the player jumping in had a visor too, would that get him another penalty?? grin.gif Kidding.....sort of......

Just frustrated after last night's game....

Now that you mention the visor thing I thought I heard somewhere that if a player fights a guy with a visor he may get an extra 2 minutes or a misconduct or something like that.

Remember when Al Secord used to roam the ice for the Hawks. Seemed like him and Basil McCrae always hooked up in the old days.

The visor deal came up the other night when Rolston tangled with that guy after he dropped Mitchell. I didn't catch all of it but I think he got an extra 2 for instigating with a visor.......he had the visor and Rolston didn't. Someone can clarify for me?

Hawks and Stars......

Dino leaving the ice and giving the fans the "bird", arm up high. The announcer, can't recall who at the time saying: "Dino's showing them who's #1!" Instant classic line....

Secord and Willie Plett danced a few times too......

AHHHH Yes, the good ol'days of hockey. Willie, Dino, Donny Boulpre,Giles Maloush. Heck, that was before they had Cable TV up on Da Range. Back in the days when we as kids had to walk ten mile to school up hill both ways bare foot in the middle of a snow storm.

I haven't watched every game, but I can't remember the last time they beat the Flames. They always lose by 1.

3-2 Calgary................

I don't recall, either. I see Calgary beat Dallas 3-2 tonight in Big D. They will be pumped coming in here for Sundays tilt. They have the momentum definitely over us right now. I hope Sunday is not a repeat of the last few games. You gotta be ready from the drop of the puck. Our opponents lately have been and we have not. That has got to change if Jacque and crew expect to make any noise in the playoffs. It has to start NOW. Flames only 3 back of us after tonight and I heard they made a trade for a physical D-man tonight. Anybody here who? Is Risebrough gonna sit on his hands again or go get someone that can win a face-off and rattle some bones? Oh, and of course we had our nightly Skoula dipsh*t play that directly led to a goal (again). I wish he would catch a cold or something..

The Wild just got manhandled last night. Chicago was knocking our guys down at will. We needed Bougard out there to protect them, or at least to stand up to some of these guys. They better step it up, if they even want to make it in the playoffs.

D Jim Vandermeer

Is a physical and tough D man. Maybe the Wild will counter with something.

I might have missed a guess, but here are the ones that I noted:   JerkinLips – March 27th, then April 7th Brianf. – March 28th Bobberwatcher – April…. MikeG3Boat – April 10th SkunkedAgain – early April, then April 21st   Definitely a tough year for guesses, as it seemed to be a no-brainer early ice out. Then it got cold and snowed again.

So, that was you in the camo lund? I'm bummed, I have to head back to the cities tomorrow for a few days, then back up for at least a few weeks. Got the dock in and fired up to get out chasing some crappies till opener!

On the south end...   Lots of ice on the main basin, but it is definitely deteriorating.  Some anglers have been fishing the open water at the mouth of the Rainy River in front of the Lighthouse Gap.  The rest of the basin is still iced over. Pike enthusiasts caught some big pike earlier last week tip up fishing in pre-spawn areas adjacent to traditional spawning areas.  8 - 14' of water using tip ups with live suckers or dead bait such as smelt and herring has been the ticket.  Ice fishing for all practical purposes is done for the year. The focus for the basin moving forward will be pike transitioning into back bays to spawn,  This is open water fishing and an opportunity available as the pike season is open year round on Lake of the Woods. The limit is 3 pike per day with one being able to be more than 40 inches. All fish 30 - 40 inches must be released. With both the ice fishing and spring fishing on the Rainy River being so good, many are looking forward to the MN Fishing Opener on Saturday, May 11th.  It should be epic. On the Rainy River...  An absolutely incredible week of walleye and sturgeon fishing on the Rain Rainy River.     Walleye anglers, as a rule, caught good numbers of fish and lots of big fish.  This spring was one for the books.   To follow that up, the sturgeon season is currently underway and although every day can be different, many boats have caught 30 - 40 sturgeon in a day!  We have heard of fish measuring into the low 70 inch range.  Lots in the 60 - 70 inch range as well.   The sturgeon season continues through May 15th and resumes again July 1st.   Oct 1 - April 23, Catch and Release April 24 - May 7, Harvest Season May 8 - May 15, Catch and Release May 16 - June 30, Sturgeon Fishing Closed July 1 - Sep 30, Harvest Season If you fish during the sturgeon harvest season and you want to keep a sturgeon, you must purchase a sturgeon tag for $5 prior to fishing.    One sturgeon per calendar year (45 - 50" inclusive, or over 75"). Most sturgeon anglers are either a glob of crawlers or a combo of crawlers and frozen emerald shiners on a sturgeon rig, which is an 18" leader with a 4/0 circle hook combined with a no roll sinker.  Local bait shops have all of the gear and bait. Up at the NW Angle...  Open water is continuing to expand in areas with current.  The sight of open water simply is wetting the pallet of those eager for the MN Fishing Opener on May 11th.   A few locals were on the ice this week, targeting pike.  Some big slimers were iced along with some muskies as well.  If you like fishing for predators, LOW is healthy!

Early bird gets the worm some say...   I have it on good authority that this very special angler caught no walleyes or muskies and that any panfish caught were released unharmed.
