Lac Lavon

We'll whenever people want to go fishing from the canoe on Lac Lavon let me know. I have a canoe I use too much to keep anywhere but my house.

I just dont know the spots on this lake. I usually just take the canoe across the street to Crystal.

Sounds like you guys have spent some time on the lake.

We're likely going to head down this afternoon looking for pike. Someone mentioned springs on the south access - are there any there we should watch for? Any tips on catching pike?

i dont think you would need to worry about the springs this winter, there is a lot of ice but i havent been out there to check

There was some open water right on shore both to the left & right of the little beach. Odd. I wouldn't think the springs would be right on shore, but it's been too cold for runoff...and the ice is certainly thick enough. This is the only time of year I despise my hand auger!

There were a fair number of people on the lake, probably a dozen we could see. We set up on a break & caught a couple of pike, missed several more. One, I'm sure it was the same fish, stripped a fathead off my jigging spoon three times in the span of less than two minutes. Never did catch him. Choice words were said. I hate being outwitted by something with the brain the size of a pea!

Hey guys, any word on this lake? I've been fishing it for around half a decade, but never really got into the nice fish. I've heard it can be phenomenal for crappies during ice out, and I know there are some huge bass/panfish in there in the spring. Would anyone be willing to shoot me an email with some tips/techniques/spots? Any help will be greatly appreciated!

yea, the charity plunge was just breaking up when we arrived - couldn't figure out why there were cars parked for a half-mile in every direction to the entrance of the park.

And as a bonus to a sunny day of ice fishing, we saw a bunch of nuts jump into the lake. And they call us ice fisherman crazy!
