I know I can see from end to end under the bigger rentals this year with my Marcum camera. Very clear water this year.

The water in URL this year is clearer then I have seen it in years. Some people are saying that it is because of the drought as there is very little drainage out of the bogs.

I got a peek at Jon's new Marcum camara yesterday. It amazed me how clear and detailed everything was. I even went out and got my older model Marcum to compare. I thought my camara was good but I've been left in the dust. cry.gif

Aces In The Hole

I was up there from Sunday to Tuesday and I could only see about 4 feet. The clarity was horrible. Maybe it was the camera, but I think the water clarity was bad. Maybe I should try a Marcum. Is there a big difference on clarity between the two cameras?

I have an Aqua View Scout, Kelly P has both a 460 and 560 Marcum cameras and I just recieved my Marcum VS820. We did compairing on the lake yesterday between units and the new VS820 (black/white) had me speechless. Now I have lots of gadgets for fishing and all sorts of electronics, most don't work as the advertisment said and some are good but not great. The new camera is absolutley the best I have seen.

Red lake is a tough lake for cameras with its stained water and heavy ice/snow cover but the Marcum camrera with high def parts and peices do a great job then click into the on screen menu so you can adjust screen brightness, sharpness and contrast until you have the picture fine tuned for the current conditions. I also liked the blue or infa red ligh option and the fact you can adjust the light intesity with the push of a button.

As many of you know I am the first to grumble about any product but I am truly impressed with the new Marcum camera.

Did you do anything to the lower unit? Trim tab might need adjusting.

Another weekend is in the books. The guys in the cabins did all right but the fishing did slow. maybe due to the water getting stirred up from the winds and the cold front that moved through.. today Monday looks like its shaping up to be a beautiful day. ken is here for a couple days and scott and his parents are coming tomorrow for a day or two. The kids will be coming for the holiday weekends so I guess I better get the boat in the water this week. I held off due to the low water but the park was able to jump through some hoops and dig out the channel so I think I'm ok.  The access was crazy busy yesterday and I still have no clue where they all come from. I guess its just a combination of  other resorts and people with cabins with in 100 mile radius.

Have not been here in sometime. Thought this would be a good opportunity to get back on here. Got out for the C season, arriving just before sunrise  and the birds were already on the ground. Started with an aggressive calling sequence "Purr into a loud Yelp" there were birds North and West of my location responding. This guy decided to take a look about 30 minutes later. He got within 5 feet of my blind full strut. Something I have never heard before he started to hiss at the decoy.  Not a great shot at that range but sealed the deal.

Very nice! I was kicking myself real hard this weekend for forgetting my fish finder at home. I did manage to bring this smallie in, but they were tough to pattern for me and this was the only noteworthy fish of the weekend. Hope the water temps come up and I can get back next weekend!

I got out on the Cass Lake chain this weekend with a group of 10.  We found walleyes still hanging out shallow and scattered.   Jigging with shiners or gulp in 4-10 fow got several walleyes in the livewell.  With the heavy wind we also had a good daytime crank bite.  In the evening trolling cranks was productive as well.  Saturday morning I stuck a 43" musky trolling for eyes. Not a great photo but I was fishing by myself and wanted to get it released quickly. Panfish were hard to pin down with them bouncing shallow and then disappearing with each weather change.  With wind gusting to 25+ miles per hour finesse presentations were difficult. Water temps ranged from 53-60 degrees.
