Is anyone getting walleyes anywhere on Tonka? I've had a little luck by Spirit Island early in the morning but they are all small. Anything on the other end of the lake?

I havn't done much out there this year, but when you come out through wayzata bay... spirit island is on the right side and across the channel there is a point... work this on both sides of the weedline and you'll catch something... it may or may not be a eye'... maybe a bass or a snake. Also try Diamond reef over by Big Island and browns bay at night.

I haven't been out too often either, but you may want to consider Hardscrabble point. Stick close to the weedline and you might be able to pick something up. I usually get a few out of there this time of year.

In the early morning or evening try in Wayzata bay... there is a spot on the south side that has bouy markers that come to a point... go out towards Sunsets from that point until you get to 20-22 ft of water and work there... I usually get some action there and if the eyes' are not biting you'll get the token smallie, bucketmouth or snake to keep you occupied... if you go inside the bouys you'll probably get panfish and casting spinners over the top of these weeds brings snakes and largemouth bass... not my favorite species but oh well it's still catching fish. Good luck! I may be out there on Thursday evening trying a new spot over in Carsons Bay across from the landing... if your going out on thursday make a post otherwise I'll touch base on Friday.

Fished Hardscrabble, King's Pt, as well as some other areas with minimal success on Saturday. I was going for Walleyes but managed a couple of bass on a jig n' leech. I wasn't marking many fish either. Anyone else had better luck? Thanks!

I'VE TRIED A HALF A DOZEN TIMES OUT ON TONKA,
DO FAR NO WALLEYES. I'VE FISHED ALL OVER WAYZATA BAY & HORSSHOE REEF. I CAN FIND THEM IN THE WINTER, BUT NOT NOW. MY UNCLE WHO LIVES ON TONKA HAS BEEN HAVING THE SAME TROUBLE? EARLY MORNING I TRY LINDEY & LEECH OR MINNOW ON THE WEED LINE EDGES IN 12 TO 14FT WATER. NO LUCK, MAYBE I SHOULD STICK TO THE ST. CROIX. (CAUGHT AND RELEASED 20 WALLEYE/SAUGER ON SAT.)KEPT 5 IN THE 13"-16" INCH RANGE. (SUNKEN ISLANDS IN DEEP WATER)
