Has anyone fished lake Demontreville near hwy. 36 in Lake Elmo? I now live about 6 blocks from the lake and am wondering if its worth a trip out on it. Any tips or pointers are appreciated. Thanks Dave!

Demontreville is a great lake for Largies. There are lots in there and they are very big. Lots of weeds to contend with but rig a worm or a lizard weedless texas style and your in.

FYI

The largies are to be returned to the water immediately, thats what the regs say. But I agree with Chev.

Cool Thanks for the info guys, I will have to hit the lake some morning, since I have a mud motor for duck hunting the weeds wont be a problem! Dave!

Does teh lake get excessively weed choked in the summer, or is it still fishable?

i have also heard there are waterskiers out there that love "their" water and "their" space. would a fishermen be contending a lot with them?

One more thing, main lake or the Potato Field lake connected to it, can't think of the name of it off hand. which one should concentrate more on. thanks for the tips.

A buddy went there yesterday, caught a total of 2 bass, one 2lb, one 4.5lb. I've been meaning to try it out though, it looks good. I saw a fishing show once on that lake, he caught a lot of nice bass.

I plan on trying Demontreville in the near future. Does the access fill up pretty quick on the weekends?

There is a no wake until noon and the locals enforce it. They are not shy to explain the no wake rule to you. Which is great to the bass fisherman!

I went out there the other night....stepped on the rod tip and the landing (broke it off) had a Pike (guessing it was) break me off. I had a small Hammer handle hit spinner bait at the boat, and seen a BIG Bass in the channel while puttin through...it was at least 5 lbs....Ill be going back! Wooduck26!

I ice fish the lake quite a bit. A friend of mine has had several 20" bass through the ice on the north end. Both of us have iced 35" pike also. Great little lake.
