I was just curious if anyone ever caught anything in Orono Lake. The dammed up river actually, up in Elk River. I figured since its a dammed river it should hold some 'eyes and stuff. I went there once and got 10 yards before the engine gave out on me... Just curious about the lake.

ebners bait shop says the dnr stocked crappies there after it was drained. looked at a map of it today and it said crappies and walleye have been stocked in it. used to jet ski on that lake a couple of years ago and that place is a zoo, unless you go under the hwy. 10 bridge. not many boaters go there because its pretty shallow and stumpy the closer you get to where it narrows into the actual river.

one more note, back before they drained it i was told that lake orono was listed as one of the top 10 dirtiest lakes in the state.
