Anyone icing eyes?

I've been out a couple times to pearl and grand but haven't been able to find the eye's yet, just wondering if anyone's finding them around here.

Was on Grand yesterday, we found a spot where we caught a couple eyes and missed a couple more. Not great fishing, but something to do on a Christmas day. No real schools of them, though, just one every once in a while that would either decide to bite or keep swimming. As far as Pearl, I consider that more if I want to do some northern fishing.

I know what you mean, i caught one nice eye out there last year toward the end of the ice year while i was fishing crappies. Lots of better eye lakes around

We ran into some good sized slush pockets, but were able to navigate around them if you get to the shore closer. Ice varied from 10 inches without much snow, to 6-7 where there was snow/slush. We had a four wheeler, and tried by the crappie spot for a while after dark, nothin doing. There were a few locals that walked out to that spot, and left a half hour after dark. Must not be much going on right now there. If you get out, let us know how you do. smirk.gif

Thanks for letting me know! I usually don't fish Grand until you can drive on it. With the conditions you gave sounds like it might be a bit since I don't want to walk to my spot (which was lost when I switched gps units frown.gif) Hopefully this cold weather coming on Tuesday will get things a little more solid, and the ice thicker. Went to Little Rock today instead, but thanks again for the report.
