Since the ice conditions are pretty bad here in the Walker area, I talked to wife into a little Christmas Trip.

Decided to leave the fish house at home and rent one from Chad Benson. Seems to have pretty good houses and a pretty good price and I have heard nothing but good things from people passing through the store on their way home. Only can stay one night, have to be back to work on Friday.

I got a kick out of his fishing report when I read that people were having to pull the rattle reels up at 1-2am so they can get some sleep. A sales pitch or not, thats what I wanted to here.

Hoping for some consistant walleye action with a 40"er mixed in. Not expecting any crappies but thats ok. Everything is going back down the hole anyway.

Got the Glow Red and Glow Yellow Demons and Rattle Spoons ready to go!!!! It should be a fun little trip.

I will have a full report when I get back late Thurs. We will be on the South end going out of JR's. Doesn't sound like we will be going out that far, maybe a mile or 2, 10-12 FOW, I told Chad that I was more interested in a good Walleye bite.

We too are heading up on Wednesday and are coming back late Friday. I would love to find the crappies, but I really wouldn't care if we don't. As long as the walleyes keep us busy it is always worth the 250 mile drive!

There's a good chance my son and I will be there Wednesday also for a day trip. He's only 4.5 years old but I think he's ready for a good walleye bite I'll be coming up from my folk's place in Grand Rapids so it's not too bad of a drive for a 1-day trip.
