"expectations were too high " I expect a Pop Warner receiver to touch the ball from time to time. I expect a High school player to catch more then he drops, I expect a college player to catch everything that hits him and a few that he should have no chance at all to catch. I expect a Pro football player to catch everything that comes close to him with a player hanging on to him, I expect a pro player to lay out out for the ball I expect a pro player to catch a ball with no one on him, no I demand it. Not my job as a fan to make excuses for someone who can not play at the pro level. I can pay someone from down the street to drop the ball for millions less and be just as surprised when he does catch a ball. Vikes have a lot of glaring holes to fill, this one should be a no brainer. To bad stickum was outlawed, only thing that would have saved this kids career.

Moss if gone, get over it.

His head was too big for us. I am glad he is gone. And, what did he do in Oakland? Not much, for they lacked a QB. What would he do in MN? Nothing, for we lack a QB.

Now he has a great QB. They make each other look great.

Yes, he has a lot of talent. Would I want him or the loser WR in Dallas on my team? No.

Yeah, i mean why would anyone want the biggest weapon who has ever put a football jersey in purple? I can't see how he would have made this team any better. Not!

Who was the bigger first round bust, Williamson or DeMetrius Underwood??

Williamson, at least I didn't have to watch Underwood play....

Williamson by far. At least Demetrius can hold on to something even though it was a knife.

Would Moss make our team better? Yes.

Would he have the same impact here as he does in NE? No, not even close.

He would look like he did in Oakland, slightly above average.

With that, would I want him on the Vikings with his attitude? No.

yet again we got jipped on the draft apart from "all day" and greenway it seems that all our draft have fell through. if we can get two good recievers, and if rice can keep getting better i dont know that there will be a much better team next year hopefully tj can keep getting better, hopefully they keep there eyes peeled for another GOOD qb

  • 1 month later...

Minnesota Vikings receiver Troy Williamson soon could be on the move.

Williamson's agent, David Canter, has been granted permission by the Vikings to shop Williamson in Indianapolis at the NFL Combine. According to Canter, more than eight teams have contacted him about acquiring his client.

"It's what we wanted. It's a very positive situation," Canter said. "They're (Vikings) letting us put together the trade. There's already been some offers and preliminary discussions. Troy is really excited and he's just anxious to see where he ends up."

Have they seen him play?

its gonna be a 6th round pick, Jags would be stupid to give the Queens a 6th overall pick they should have a middle 1st rd pick with how they played last year. Personally I dont think I would even give up a 6th rd pick for stone hands.

What a steal. A 6th round pick usually isn't that great but occasionally you strike gold. I'd imagine they'll pick up someone for the secondary with this pick. Could prove to be a solid backup that could be developed into a starter.

a 6th round pick is definately better than cutting the man.

I think Tice had a little something to do with this...even though he said he didn't want to draft him in the first place...I highly doubt that now.

I could see the vikes using this pick and others to make some trade day moves...

I am thinking Mount McKinnie could be on the move soon...

Williamson sucks, I think we all agree on that. But I'd be happier trading (whisper talking Secret Squirrel) Brad the maxi-pad Childress for a case of beer and a bucket of minnows. grin.gif\:D Any1 think we can make that happen? The team would be better for it.

HILARIOUS! I'm not a Childress hater, nor am I one of his fans. Guess my jury is still out on that one.

But a case of beer and a bucket of minnows would be a tempting offer..... grin.gif

Give chilly a chance...i am not his # 1 fan nor do I want him escorted out of winter park.

Things could click this year if they can pick up a few key positions!

With the early ice out, how is the curlyleaf pondweed doing?

On the south end...   The big basin, otherwise known as Big Traverse Bay, is ice free.  Zippel Bay and Four Mile Bay are ice free as well.  Everything is shaping up nicely for the MN Fishing Opener on May 11th. With the walleye / sauger season currently closed, most anglers are targeting sturgeon and pike.  Some sturgeon anglers are fishing at the mouth of the Rainy River, but most sturgeon are targeted in Four Mile Bay or the Rainy River.  Hence, pike are the targeted species on the south shore and various bays currently.   Pike fishing this time of year is a unique opportunity, as LOW is border water with Canada, the pike season is open year round. The limit is 3 pike per day with one being able to be more than 40 inches. All fish 30 - 40 inches must be released. Back bays hold pike as they go through the various stages of the spawn.  Deadbait under a bobber, spinners, spoons and shallow diving crankbaits are all viable options.   Four Mile Bay, Bostic Bay and Zippel Bay are all small water and boats of various sizes work well. On the Rainy River...  Great news this week as we learned sturgeon will not be placed on the endangered species list by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.     The organization had to make a decision by June 30 and listing sturgeon could have ended sturgeon fishing.  Thankfully, after looking at the many success stories across the nation, including LOW and the Rainy River, sturgeon fishing and successful sturgeon management continues.   A good week sturgeon fishing on the Rainy River.  Speaking to some sturgeon aficionados, fishing will actually get even better as water temps rise.     Four Mile Bay at the mouth of the Rainy River near the Wheeler's Point Boat Ramp is still producing good numbers of fish, as are various holes along the 42 miles of navigable Rainy River from the mouth to Birchdale.   The sturgeon season continues through May 15th and resumes again July 1st.   Oct 1 - April 23, Catch and Release April 24 - May 7, Harvest Season May 8 - May 15, Catch and Release May 16 - June 30, Sturgeon Fishing Closed July 1 - Sep 30, Harvest Season If you fish during the sturgeon harvest season and you want to keep a sturgeon, you must purchase a sturgeon tag for $5 prior to fishing.    One sturgeon per calendar year (45 - 50" inclusive, or over 75"). Most sturgeon anglers are either a glob of crawlers or a combo of crawlers and frozen emerald shiners on a sturgeon rig, which is an 18" leader with a 4/0 circle hook combined with a no roll sinker.  Local bait shops have all of the gear and bait. Up at the NW Angle...  A few spots with rotten ice, but as a rule, most of the Angle is showing off open water.  In these parts, most are looking ahead to the MN Fishing Opener.  Based on late ice fishing success, it should be a good one.

Nice fish. I moved to the Sartell area last summer and just thought it was windy like this everyday up here? 🤭

Crazy windy again today.... This is has been the norm this spring. Between the wind and the cold fronts, fishing has been more challenging for me than most years.  Panfish have been moving in and out of the shallows quite a bit. One day they are up in the slop, the next they are out relating to cabbage or the newly sprouting lilly pads.  Today eye guy and I found them in 4-5 ft of water, hanging close to any tree branches that happened to be laying in the water.  Bigger fish were liking a 1/32 head and a Bobby Garland baby shad.   Highlight of the day way this healthy 15incher
