Any one used P-Line? A buddy of mine told me that it was pretty decent. Thought I would see what everyone else thought. Should I try the flourocarbon or the extra tuff stuff? Probably fishing eyes or bass with it. How's it handle, I would think the flouro would have tons of memory. Thanks ahead.

I've used p-line for two years on two of my rods. It's CX Premium 6lb .21mm. flourocarbon coated and I don't have any complaiants really. Memory is so so. Used it casting, with slip bobbers, some trolling, and walter jigging in the river as well as bass and some pike. It works for me. About all I used before though was Berkley XL and XT. I like both of them as well and they are still on the other rods.

I used P-line all winter and it work great. I've transfered my ice reals to my panfish rods and used the same line and had no problems either. Its alittle bit more expensive but I think worth it. I didn't put it on my walleye equipment maybe next year.

Thanks for the info. Maybe I'll give it a shot. Was out on the Croix last weekend with with a friend and used Tri. XT and caught 3 walleys, 2 keepers, 1 silver bass, 4 or 5 sheephead, 2 sturgeon, and 1 big chub. Had a lot more bites but my timing was off. My friend had a big fish on but his knot failed at the swivel. All fish were on bottom rigs, with crawlers and minnows, had one hit on a leech but yanked it right out of the fishes mouth. Couldn't get a hit on cranks to save my life but it was fun and the weather held off.

Has anyone used the Power Pro line stuff? How's it handle?

Posted

Power Pro just keeps amazing me. I'm using the 4/15 on my general purpose rod, and it's great. I was worried about it burying into the spool like my son's Tuf-Line does, but not yet. I was pulling in 5 lb. + carp in heavy current and no burying. Haven't had a knot fail yet, either. Sensitivity, even in current, is amazing. I could feel a tiny willow-blade spinning on a teflon cleavis.

I use P-line Xtra Strong, too, and I liked it, but for panfish/smallies. Watch your knots, though - if they're not wet and 'just right' they'll burn and snap.
