just a heads up to those people fishing the west metro. if you need bait in the middle of the night on opener, check out Mases In Towne Marina in waconia. they are open all night for our convenience. ya gotta like a bait shop that caters to us like that. Hope everyone has a safe and fun opener, and ya do well on the eyes. where is everyone opening at?

I cannot say enough good things about Mase's, they are first rate! I am heading up to Birch Lake out of Babbitt for a week chasing eyes and smallies. Good luck to everyone on Waconia this weekend!

In my dreams - unfortunately no, I live off of Hwy5 and Oak over behind Valley GMC but that's close enough for me. How about you?

Hey Fishermann! Since you'll be heading North it sounds like your parents will have room. Could they handle a family of four?!?! It would surely save me on gas driving from the west metro!! Good luck on Sat. and maybe I'll run into you at In-Towne. They are THE BEST!!!!

Hey Rainman,
In-Towne is located on the south shore of Waconia off Elm St. I have fished this lake since 86 and the Mase's and their staff are top line. They are always stocked on bait and very helpful to all. They set the bench mark for service!

No. I'll be unable to be on the water on that day due to a wifely schedule conflict. As well, I'm intimidated by guys like you that know this lake far better than I!!! Good luck and I'm sure I'll hear how you do. Hope to see you around the marina.

      Barely had time and data to post a few random daily pics!  😄   Iffen you’re self banned, how’d ya know? 😉   Sunday - Tuesday hunt near Yankton, SD.  We found ourselves there between two of the big pushes north.  Adults first, pushing the ice line north, slipped through a couple days before we got there and the second juvie push held up by the storm that went through the night we traveled.  Our best day was Monday.  Sunny and warm with a nice south wind.  Day 3 was cool with a stiff northeast wind bringing in another storm.     A select few groups did well with birds coming off Lewis and Clark lake but we weren’t in their path.  We packed up early and hit the road.  We headed north and found them between Brookings and Watertown.  Saw 100’s of thousands at the ice line.
