i know i am way early but i cannot wait for the night fishing to begin. i learned most of my walleye fishing on mille lacs so night fishing is something that i have always enjoyed. there is just nothing like a calm lake with no one else around watching a lighted bobber and drinking a beer with a good friend. i have only tried spring and cedar after dark. spring is real hot from dark till about 11pm. then you may has well go home because i have never even had a bite after that. the few times i tried cedar after dark the seem to go away right when the sun goes down. anyone ever try any other lakes in the area after dark. any thoughts?
scott county - good thing i am better with a jig then a keyboard

I have done ok in the past at Fish Lake in Scott county night fishing before the lake turns into pea soup, and then again late in the fall. Cedar lake I used to do ok throwing rapala's into the shallow rocks at night. I agree the bite dies on the lighted bobbers just after sunset. Many of the fish move very shallow to feed as the night goes on. Dont outrule pulling small shad raps for the night bite.

I would certainly like to partake in any ongoing research in the south metro. I say we just may have to try a few spots.... grin.gif

Fisher Dave - your thoughts on cedar make sense. being a small shallow lake not sure why i never tried that. may have to give some shads a try here this spring (after opener of course). have never tried fish lake after dark so anything is worth trying a few times. wastewater... you and me buddie - know from talking before your up by sand point on prior. lets hit prior that first week after opener. plenty of good spots to try on that lake! they must be biting somewhere. whats that other lake by there o'dould????(sp). whats the story with that body of water.
