I think I want to throw up after hearing that.... The only hope for the Vikings better be laid up until he can safely get on the field again (not another Liriano situation) or I will personally campaign to get Chilly fired!

Would you like me to start so you can get used to it? grin.gif (Just kidding.)

Even though I'm a Packer fan, I don't like seeing someone of his caliber getting injured, he's a fun player to watch.

4WE, what part of Wisconsin are you going to be hunting? If you're going to be near Hayward, either Anglers (downtown Hayward) or Cruise Inn should have the game on. Also, 101.1, a radio station in Hayward, carries the Vikings.

I am west of Hayward about 20 miles, inbetween Minong and Trego. I knew a radio station carried the game, but know I dont have to search for it, thanks!

I'm with you. There is no way on God's green earth that Peterson's torn ligament will be healed in a week or two. NO WAY. If Chili rushes him back before he's 100%, it's a heck of a gamble.

I can see where both Chili and Peterson want him on the field. Chili's job is likely on the line (I HOPE SO!), and Peterson may lose out on some significant performance bonus money. However, as a fan I believe risking Peterson's career in order to finish 5-11 instead of 3-13 is rediculous.

Shut Peterson down for the rest of the season. Bring him back next year when we have a quarterback who can throw the ball straight and a coach who knows how to develop a game plan and manage a game! (It doesn't hurt to dream, anyway.)

They've been conservative with Peterson all season up until the last couple of weeks. I can't see them not being conservative with their approach to his injury.

From the Nation's Most Reputable News Source.

EDEN PRAIRIE, MN—Responding to speculation that Adrian Peterson's sprained knee may be the result of overusing the talented rookie, Vikings head coach Brad Childress released a statement Monday defending his practice of using the superstar rookie on rushing plays, passing plays, kickoff returns, punt returns, movie returns, grocery runs, and home repairs. "Adrian is a great young talent, and the team doctors say he can still do a lot for this team, both on the field and around my house," Childress said of the multi-tasking back who currently leads the league in yards raked. "Naturally, situations will dictate how he's used, but you can expect to see him playing an increased role around my household. Any coach in this league would love to have a player who can put an entire team or bedroom set on his back and carry them into the postseason or attic." Peterson, who spent Tuesday's practice washing Childress' car at a Minnetonka self-service car wash, said that his injured knee wouldn't affect his aggressive cleaning style.

Best thing the Vikes could do at this point is sit AP until next year. Unfortunately, because of Childress's extremely gargantuan ego and self preservation tactics, he'll probably make him play, just to selfishly attempt to save his job as a head coach in the NFL.

He knows it, the fans know it, and the entire league knows it, that he is failing horribly. He has no business coaching..

Sorry about the rant, but why sacrifice such a natural talent, just to stroke your own agenda?

As a long time fan, I am sick and tired of the revolving door in the Vikes when it comes to coaches.. We need consistency..

So should we "settle in" with chilly, or keep looking for the "right" coach?

I don't think Chilly is the wrong coach.

And, do you really think Adrian would agree to sit him out until next year? No way!

MN sure likes to whine about their coaches. They all can't be Bud Grant. Everyone sitting at home thinks they would be a better coach.

Is he a great coach? No. Is he a bad coach? No. Get rid of him and start all over again...that is what we want....

It is time to build this team. The quarterback is #1. Receivers, #2.

Very low, probably 2 feet lower than last year at ice out.

what do they look like this spring?

I might have missed a guess, but here are the ones that I noted:   JerkinLips – March 27th, then April 7th Brianf. – March 28th Bobberwatcher – April…. MikeG3Boat – April 10th SkunkedAgain – early April, then April 21st   Definitely a tough year for guesses, as it seemed to be a no-brainer early ice out. Then it got cold and snowed again.

So, that was you in the camo lund? I'm bummed, I have to head back to the cities tomorrow for a few days, then back up for at least a few weeks. Got the dock in and fired up to get out chasing some crappies till opener!

On the south end...   Lots of ice on the main basin, but it is definitely deteriorating.  Some anglers have been fishing the open water at the mouth of the Rainy River in front of the Lighthouse Gap.  The rest of the basin is still iced over. Pike enthusiasts caught some big pike earlier last week tip up fishing in pre-spawn areas adjacent to traditional spawning areas.  8 - 14' of water using tip ups with live suckers or dead bait such as smelt and herring has been the ticket.  Ice fishing for all practical purposes is done for the year. The focus for the basin moving forward will be pike transitioning into back bays to spawn,  This is open water fishing and an opportunity available as the pike season is open year round on Lake of the Woods. The limit is 3 pike per day with one being able to be more than 40 inches. All fish 30 - 40 inches must be released. With both the ice fishing and spring fishing on the Rainy River being so good, many are looking forward to the MN Fishing Opener on Saturday, May 11th.  It should be epic. On the Rainy River...  An absolutely incredible week of walleye and sturgeon fishing on the Rain Rainy River.     Walleye anglers, as a rule, caught good numbers of fish and lots of big fish.  This spring was one for the books.   To follow that up, the sturgeon season is currently underway and although every day can be different, many boats have caught 30 - 40 sturgeon in a day!  We have heard of fish measuring into the low 70 inch range.  Lots in the 60 - 70 inch range as well.   The sturgeon season continues through May 15th and resumes again July 1st.   Oct 1 - April 23, Catch and Release April 24 - May 7, Harvest Season May 8 - May 15, Catch and Release May 16 - June 30, Sturgeon Fishing Closed July 1 - Sep 30, Harvest Season If you fish during the sturgeon harvest season and you want to keep a sturgeon, you must purchase a sturgeon tag for $5 prior to fishing.    One sturgeon per calendar year (45 - 50" inclusive, or over 75"). Most sturgeon anglers are either a glob of crawlers or a combo of crawlers and frozen emerald shiners on a sturgeon rig, which is an 18" leader with a 4/0 circle hook combined with a no roll sinker.  Local bait shops have all of the gear and bait. Up at the NW Angle...  Open water is continuing to expand in areas with current.  The sight of open water simply is wetting the pallet of those eager for the MN Fishing Opener on May 11th.   A few locals were on the ice this week, targeting pike.  Some big slimers were iced along with some muskies as well.  If you like fishing for predators, LOW is healthy!

Early bird gets the worm some say...   I have it on good authority that this very special angler caught no walleyes or muskies and that any panfish caught were released unharmed.
