I'm heading out Jordan Mill Pond tomorrow for the first time, if anyone else is headed out, look for two fish trap guides, stop by and say "Hi". Hopefully we can catch a few crappies and gills. With a small pond like it is, I'll be letting everything go. Good Luck!

It won't be hard to find you out there. I have'nt see anyone on the pond yet this winter so fishing pressure should be low. You might be suprised at what you catch. Some of those crappies in there are okay size.Remember they also try to use the pond for skating. Good luck and report back on how you do

I'll be out there with the kids tomorrow after 10 o'clock or so...If we get onto any of those slabs, I'll have to make them promise to keep quiet. I'd hate to see every kid from the Belle Plaine Elementary School out there drillin holes!

WET NETS!

Well, I feel like I wasted my time going out there. We drilled about 25 holes on the side near the outlet and warming house. The deepest water (under the ice) we could find was 2-3.5 feet. The water was very murky, maybe 6" visibility. We spent about 20 minutes there and confidence was low so we packed up and went to Carl's. We caught our share of sunfish and some crappies. The crappies would be suspended 5 feet below the hole and the sunfish were a foot off the bottom. We also caught some monster shiner minnows too. Good Luck!

How big were the shiners? Sounds like a good place to catch your own pike and catfish bait.

The shiners were a 6-8". Big bait!

I caught a shiner last time we were out at Carl's as well, must be a bunch in there... I was marking them just under the ice in 13' all day. They would bit, but normally wouldn't be big enough to get a hook in...

The one I got was in the 7-8" range... perfect pike bait.
